Croatia holidays: Brits see travel as a 'lifestyle essential'

Croatia holidays: Brits see travel as a lifestyle essential Many Britons see regular breaks, such as Croatia holidays, as an essential part of their lifestyle and are unwilling to give them up, according to a recent survey.

Financial services provider LV= carried out a poll which found that lifestyle spending has hit a new high this year, with UK consumers allocating some £143 billion to little luxuries.

Holidays and weekend breaks emerged as the number one 'lifestyle essential', with half (50 per cent) of respondents saying they could not live without them.

Travel also topped the list of luxuries that people would not be willing to sacrifice to save money, with more than a fifth (22 per cent) saying they could not cut back on their getaways.

Adriatic cruises and other Croatia holidays provide the opportunity for travellers to see some spectacular sights while enjoying a luxurious and relaxing experience.

Psychologist Corinne Sweet, who participated in the research, said: "In tough financial times people still need to treat themselves to compensate for stress and hard work, so it's not surprising that spending on holidays and weekend breaks [has] stayed buoyant."

She added: "'Lifestyle essentials' are basically stress releasers, and people value them highly, particularly in difficult times."ADNFCR-2466-ID-800126940-ADNFCR
