Korcula popular for island hopping in Croatia

Korcula popular for island hopping in Croatia Brits planning to do some island hopping in Croatia may be interested to hear that Korcula is proving massively popular.

According to the Croatian Times, it is catching up with Dubrovnik as one of the most visited Croatia sailing holiday destinations.

The newspaper highlighted a report in the daily Slobodna Dalmacija, which claimed that the stunning island is now the second-busiest sailing port in Croatia.

Featuring more than 200 moorings, Korcula could be the ideal spot for a stop off for those doing some island hopping in Croatia.

It is believed that the port will see up to 60,000 passengers on Adriatic cruises visit by the end of the year.

Earlier this month, Croatia was named the fourth favourite European destination in the Guardian, Observer and guardian.co.uk Travel Awards.

The country beat Italy, which finished in fifth spot, and was close behind Austria, Switzerland and Sweden, which took the first, second and third places respectively.ADNFCR-2466-ID-800198924-ADNFCR
