Adriatic cruises: Shopping centre brings new brands to Croatia

Travellers planning to visit Zagreb before embarking on an Adriatic cruise from ports such as Opatija and Split can take the opportunity to explore a new shopping centre.

The Arena Centar opened its doors in the capital city last week and welcomed consumers who came in droves to check out the new stores.

A number of world-famous and highly popular brands have now been extended into Croatia for the first time, including Massimo Dutti, Zara Home and Gap, the Croatian Times reports, citing daily newspaper Jutarnji List.

The centre represents a major investment in the country and could pave the way for further developments and attractions for people taking Croatia holidays to enjoy in future.

Finance minister Djuro Popijac said: "I hope that the successful completion of this project will be an encouragement for other investors to recognise that Croatia is a desirable and a profitable investment destination."

Adventurous travellers can visit the thriving and exciting city of Zagreb before making their way to the northern port of Opatija to embark on an Adriatic cruise.
