Croatia holidays: European tourism 'has bright future'

European consumers embarking on trips abroad, such as Croatia holidays, are expected to play an important part in the ongoing recovery of the tourism industry.

Speaking on the opening day of the 2010 World Travel Market (WTM) in London yesterday (8 November), WTM chairman Fiona Jeffery said that global tourism sectors have reason to be upbeat.

She referred to predictions from financial experts that consumers, particularly in Europe, will continue to spend money on holidays and leisure.

Ms Jeffery also commented on the opportunities presented by the sports tourism sector, which encompasses activities and pursuits such as sail and cycle holidays in Croatia.

Travellers can plan a cycling trip that enables them to see some of the Adriatic's most beautiful destinations while keeping fit and enjoying the great outdoors.

Other adventurous excursions on offer during Croatia holidays include white-water rafting along the Cetina river and walking in the Biokovo mountains.
