Head to Croatia for a cultural break

Holidaymakers that are keen to soak up some culture next year have been advised to head to Croatia.

According to Travelbite.co.uk, the country is an ideal destination for history enthusiasts as it has come under the rule of the Italians, Romans and Venetians in the past.

The news provider noted that the best place to start is Dubrovnik.

"Dubrovnik is one of the most popular Croatian holiday destinations on the Dalmatian coast, with its beautifully preserved medieval centre being one of the main draws for visitors to this part of the world.

Some of the places that visitors can explore during their break include the 15th century Rector's Palace and the impressive clock tower in Luza Square.

According to Abta – The Travel Association, people taking holidays to Croatia and other destinations in 2011 will be seeking value for money.
