'Get away from it all' on a Croatia holiday
Croatia holiday bookings could prove highly popular in January as thousands of Britons seek to banish the January blues by arranging their next break.According to research by Visa Europe, January 11th will turn out to be the busiest day of the year for holiday flight bookings, with UK consumers arranging more than 87,000 air journeys.
People planning Croatia holidays have the option of booking flights to destinations such as Split and Dubrovnik, both of which are popular Adriatic cruise ports.
Several factors contribute to heightened interest in overseas breaks at this time of year, according to Visa Europe, such as the cold weather in the UK and special offers from airlines.
Tony Gibbons, head of debit at the company, said many people's thoughts turn to a summer break to help ease the "back-to-work blues" in January.
He added: "Many consumers are looking to 'get away from it all', especially if they are able to do so at a bargain price."
