Croatia cruises 'offer best of both worlds'

Sailing holidays in Croatia can offer a combination of relaxation and activity, according to an expert.

Meri Matesic, director of the Croatian National Tourist Office, pointed out that the country is home to miles of coastline, encompassing quiet, secluded spots as well as thriving cities and ports.

Travellers enjoying Adriatic cruises can therefore combine tranquil days on the beach with trips to exciting destinations like Dubrovnik and Split.

"With such a long coastline and so many islands it is quite possible to experience true isolation if you choose, as there are so many secluded bays and inlets which you could anchor up at and have all to yourself," said Ms Matesic.

"Equally there is a huge choice of … ports to call at as well, so Croatia offers the best of both worlds."

Sailing holidays in Croatia also provide the opportunity for travellers to take part in adventurous activities and excursions such as white-water rafting, hiking and scuba diving.
