Croatia holidays 'proving popular among older travellers'

Croatia holidays proving popular among older travellers Croatia holidays are attracting more interest from older travellers, according to research.

Insurance firm LV= carried out a survey which found that Croatia is one of the countries that is proving popular among holidaymakers over the age of 50 who want to "head off the beaten track" and discover new places.

The study also revealed that the over-50 age group now accounts for more than a third of all holidays taken by Britons.

Older adventurers typically spend some £17.6 billion a year on travel and are responsible for half (51 per cent) of all overseas tourism spending by UK consumers.

Selwyn Fernandes, managing director of LV= travel insurance, said: "This research shows that the travel habits of the UK's older citizens hugely benefit the domestic and overseas tourism industries and by 2020 we can expect to see the over-50s making half of all trips."

Adriatic cruises and other Croatia holiday options provide the opportunity to soak up the culture and history of destinations such as Dubrovnik, Split and Zadar.ADNFCR-2466-ID-800417303-ADNFCR
