Try some local cuisine on a Greece to Croatia tour

Travellers embarking on a tour from Greece to Croatia can sample some traditional Greek cuisine.

Celebrity chef Christoforos Peskias, speaking on behalf of the Greek Tourism Organisation, said that food is a highly important part of the country's culture.

He pointed out that the ways in which people eat are dictated by the weather and help to define national character.

Many of the dishes on offer to people visiting destinations such as Corfu while travelling from Greece to Croatia will be simple but full of flavour.

"We don't use a lot of ingredients, it's the quality of the product that is important - that's not just with Greek, but all … Mediterranean [cuisine]," said Mr Peskias.

The chef went on to say that people visiting Greek islands will find that the destinations have their own unique character and appeal.

Travellers taking tours in the region can begin with a visit to Corfu before heading to destinations such as Saranda in Albania, Budva in Montenegro and the Croatia holiday hotspot of Dubrovnik.
