Adriatic cruises: Rafting ranked among 'holiday goosebump moments'

Adriatic cruises: Rafting ranked among holiday goosebump moments Adriatic cruise passengers might want to try white-water rafting after hearing the results of a recent poll.

The activity was listed as one of the best ways of achieving a 'holiday goosebump moment'.

More than 1,000 Britons were surveyed by tourism agency Travel Alberta and a fifth (20 per cent) said going white-water rafting during a holiday would make their hair stand on end.

Climbing a mountain - another experience that is available during Adriatic cruises - received the same proportion of the vote.

Travel Alberta revealed that its research showed British holidaymakers to be "active" and "destination-driven".

Dominic Gill, an adventure traveller who rode from Alaska to Argentina on a tandem bicycle, said: "I think all of us realise that holidays are now a chance to do something out of the ordinary and whilst that needs to include rest and relaxation, having an adventure, seeing something you always wanted to see or doing something you always wanted to do is also hugely significant."

Other memorable experiences on offer to people planning Croatia holidays this year include scuba diving over a German torpedo boat that sank during World War II.ADNFCR-2466-ID-800570176-ADNFCR
