Mobile devices could come in handy on Croatia tours

Travellers planning Croatia tours could find that their mobile devices come in handy, both before and during their trip.

According to research carried out by review website TripAdvisor, one in five tourists have used a smartphone or tablet as part of their holiday planning.

Researching and booking accommodation is the most common pre-trip activity carried out on mobile devices, followed by researching destinations.

Almost half of travellers have used their mobile devices once they've arrived at their chosen destination, the survey shows.

As well as looking up local restaurants and checking flight statuses, researching attractions and tours are also popular activities during an overseas holiday.

"Whether travellers are looking for the nearest attractions or top-rated restaurant, these findings show that smartphones and tablets arean increasingly important travel companion," said TripAdvisor spokesperson Emma O'Boyle.
