Croatia tours: Scuba diving a popular holiday activity

Adventure seekers planning Croatia holidays may find themselves becoming hooked on scuba diving if they give it a go.

Mike Convery of Pittsburgh Scuba Centre in the US said the activity is becoming increasingly popular among holidaymakers.

Speaking to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, he said families with children are even getting involved, as it's fun and exciting.

Mr Convery reassured travellers nervous about trying scuba diving for the first time that it is easier than it looks.

"It's more about getting comfortable in the water," he insisted.

"It's a combination of knowledge and experience. Stuff we do in the water versus stuff we do in the classroom."

And he added that as cumbersome and heavy as the equipment looks, it "kind of makes sense" once it's all put together.

Tourists heading to Croatia can go wreck driving to witness a German torpedo boat that was attacked and sunk by the British in 1944.

They can also spot a variety of fish species in the Adriatic Sea.
