Enjoy 'excellent' waters on a Croatia holiday

Enjoy excellent waters on a Croatia holiday Beach lovers taking Croatia holidays this year can rest assured regarding the standard of the country's waters.

A recent study by the Ministry of Environmental Protection found that the majority of beaches in the region have very high water quality, reports the Croatian Times.

Overall, 671 locations were examined and 654, or 97.5 per cent, were found to have 'excellent' water, 15 were certified as 'good' and the remaining two were deemed 'satisfactory' for swimming.

To ensure sufficient standards for people visiting coastal destinations during Adriatic cruises and other Croatia holidays, tests are carried out every 15 days between May and September in several regions.

The European Environment Agency recently released a report which showed that 97.3 per cent of the country's bathing water sites meet strict quality criteria, putting it just behind Cyprus in the rankings and ahead of Malta, Greece and Ireland.

Sun seekers and swimmers visiting Croatia can enjoy a dip in the sea in countless destinations, including scenic islands like Hvar and Korcula.ADNFCR-2466-ID-800629431-ADNFCR
