The Croatian National Tourist Board has encouraged travellers planning an Adriatic cruise this year to visit Dubrovnik. One of the most striking aspects of the destination is its "breathtaking" cityscape, according to the organisation, with "bell towers and terracotta rooftops set against the shimmering Adriatic". The tourist board recommended Dubrovnik as one of the most romantic destinations for couples to visit during a Croatia holiday. It also encouraged visitors to take a walk along the city's ramparts, which boast panoramic views of the coastline and old town. Another destination that holidaymakers can visit during an Adriatic cruise is Zadar, which boasts its own historic areas and a seafront stretch that is ideal for a romantic walk. Film director Alfred Hitchcock described the city's sunsets as the most beautiful he had ever seen, according to the Croatian National Tourist Board. People who visit Zadar during a Croatia sailing holiday can also see the 'Greeting to the Sun' installation, which stores ultraviolet light during the day and projects it into the sky at night. ![]() |
