 Travellers taking Croatia sailing holidays this year may be tempted to pay a visit to Hvar, a destination
which has been named one of the eight best islands in the Mediterranean.According to Conde Nast Traveller magazine, Croatia's Dalmatian coast is becoming the "French Riviera of the east" and Hvar can be considered "its St Tropez". The island has been popular with people taking Croatia sailing holidays for years, Conde Nast Traveller revealed. Discussing the appealing aspects of Hvar, the magazine lists the smell of lavender that hangs in the air and the rocky hills that surround Hvar town. Dining options on the island include Restaurant Gariful, which serves fresh fish caught that day. Those planning to experience the local nightlife can head to Carpe Diem, one of Hvar's most popular bars. As well as recommending Hvar as an individual destination, Conde Nast Traveller urged holidaymakers to try some island hopping in Croatia, with Vis, Sipan and Brac among the Adriatic isles worth visiting.  |
