| Monday, 06 July 2009 09:29 |
Travellers planning to set off on Croatia cruises over the coming weeks will have the opportunity to broaden
their cultural horizons by paying a visit to the city of Split.Until August 9th, Split City Hall will host an exhibition of pieces by the highly influential and acclaimed modern artist Marc Chagall. Chagall was arguably one of the most successful artists of the 20th century, having enjoyed success in various media, including painting, ceramics, printmaking and book illustration. Along with the likes of Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse, Chagall made great contributions to modernist art movements such as cubism and fauvism that emerged in the 20th century. Travellers can stop off in Split during their Croatia sailing holidays to see dozens of pieces of art by Chagall that will be presented under the title of 'Dreams of love, poetry and faith'. Another good reason to include the city on Croatia cruises over the coming weeks is the Split Summer Festival, a cultural celebration that will run from July 14th to August 14th. ![]() |
