A visit to Split could prove a popular option among people taking Adriatic cruises this year, following the
recent launch of a new exhibition in the city. The display was opened on September 12th to celebrate the work of British and Croatian allied forces in "the service of peace", the Croatian Times reports. It was jointly arranged by the eastern European country's ministry of defence and the British embassy in Zagreb. Travellers on Croatia sailing holidays will be able to visit Split to see a selection of 30 images of Croatian and British soldiers serving in Afghanistan, Iraq, Chad and other countries. Speaking at the exhibition's opening ceremony, David Blunt, the UK ambassador, wished Croatia well in its bid to become a member of the European Union. People who visit Split during their Croatia sailing holidays can see more exhibitions by paying a visit to the Mestrovic Gallery and the Archaeological Museum. ![]() |
