Travellers who visit Split during future Croatia sailing holidays will be able to see a new sculpture that
is being unveiled today (October 22nd).The bust of Miljenko Smoje, a famous Croatian journalist and writer, will be based at the Luxor cafe-bar in Split, the Croatian Times reports. Smoje travelled throughout Croatia during his career and wrote about the people and communities he encountered. He also created short stories, plays and novels, as well as the script for a highly successful and popular television series. Sculptor Ante Strinic created the bust of the writer to mark the anniversary of his death on October 25th 1995. People on Croatia sailing holidays can visit Split to see the work along with the city's other sights and attractions, such as Diocletian's Palace and St Duje's cathedral. Split providesthe starting point for three Croatia sailing holiday itineraries, including one route that features Dubrovnik, Korcula and Hvar. ![]() |
