Brits embarking on sailing holidays in Croatia can visit an impressive exhibition in Split before embarking on their
trip. The Adriatic cruise hub is hosting an exhibition of Dusan Dzamonja's work, the country's most famous modern sculpture, who passed away earlier this year. Ideal for holidaymakers looking to learn more about Split's culture before heading on a Croatia sailing trip, Dzamonja's solo exhibition work dates back to 1954. Dzamonja spent his working life between Brussels, Vrsar and Zagreb. It was in Vrsar, which is located in Istria, that he had his home and workshop built according to his own design. He won numerous awards for his work and was involved in both the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Also taking place in Split this month is Lithuania Without A Utopia, an exhibition featuring the work of young Lithuanian photographers. Organisers have said the collection of images is a cross between reportage photography and conceptual contemporary art. ![]() |
