 Croatia sailing holidays will offer travellers the opportunity to visit Rijeka this summer to experience the city's cultural
season.Rijeka is located in northern Croatia near Opatija, making it a perfect location to visit before travellers set off on a seven-day Croatia sailing break from Opatija harbour. The Traditional cruise departs from Opatija on Saturdays and begins with a trip to the island of Krk, where visitors can explore local villages or relax on the beach. Holidaymakers who visit Rijeka during their time in Croatia can head to the Trsatska gradina fortress from June 19th to September 12th to see a rich and varied programme of events. Several Croatian actors and singers visit the venue to give theatrical performances and shows during the season. The fortress is also an attraction in itself. It was first built on the site of a former Roman observation post to defend against the Turkish army. After visiting Rijeka, holidaymakers can set off on their Traditional Croatia sailing break, visiting islands such as Rab, Losinj and Cres.  |
