Sport enthusiasts will be able to visit Split during Adriatic cruises this year to see the launch of
a new powerboat championship. The managers of the Powerboat P1 series have teamed up with the Honda Formula 4-Stroke Association (F4SA) to create the Powerboat P1 SuperStock Championship. It was confirmed that the first race in the new competition will be the Grand Prix of the Sea in Split. People on Croatia sailing holidays will be able to see the event on the weekend of April 16th to 18th. The announcement of the new series was made at the International Boat Show in London this month, Eurosport reported. Speaking at the event, former F4SA star Shelley Jory-Leigh said: "For years there have been loads of series that have been trying to do their own thing and have struggled. "But now, at last, somebody has had the brains to put two top series together and make a fantastic platform for powerboat racing." People who visit Split during Croatia sailing holidays this year will be able to attend several other events, such as the city's annual summer festival. ![]() |
