Adriatic cruise passengers who stop off in Split this year to see the opening race in the Powerboat
P1 SuperStock Championship can expect some high-quality entertainment, according to the event's organisers.Split will host the first race in the series between April 16th and 18th. The event will coincide with the Croatia Boat Show, meaning there will be plenty to interest people visiting Split during an Adriatic cruise. Andy Hindley, Powerboat P1 director, said the early signs for the series are "fantastic". He added: "In just ten weeks, we have organised the calendar, ratified a set of rules and secured a television agreement, following the takeover from the Formula 4-Stroke Association. "Racing outside of the championship's conventional UK and Irish shores, coupled with exciting newcollaborations, illustrates our huge ambitions for the series." Split is the second biggest city in Croatia after Zagreb and is a highly popular port of call on Adriatic cruises, partly as a result of historical attractions such as Diocletian's Palace. ![]() |
