Travellers will be able to visit Pula before setting off on a Croatia sailing holiday this year to
attend a festival celebrating the city's history. The Days of Antiquity event will take place in the coastal destination on June 25th and 26th. It pays tribute to Pula's proud Roman heritage, which is represented by some of the spectacular edifices and relics that stand in the city and attract crowds of visitors year after year. Holidaymakers can visit the destination before embarking on their Adriatic cruise to see it turned into an ancient Roman theatre. The amphitheatre stages re-enactments of some of the battles that took place there thousands of years ago, while festival participants wear period attire to add to the authenticity of the event. Pula is the largest city in the Croatian region of Istria. Travellers can visit the destination before setting off on an Adriatic cruise from one of Croatia's northern ports, such as Opatija. ![]() |
