| Visit Istria on Croatia sailing holidays |
| Tuesday, 13 October 2009 11:38 |
People planning Croatia sailing holidays in the future may be interested in visiting Istria, a region that has
received a glowing review in the Daily Mail.Istria is the largest peninsula on the Adriatic Sea and spans the borders of three countries: Croatia, Slovenia and Italy. Journalist John McEntee took a holiday in the region and recommended a number of its destinations, including Motovun, which he described as "a stunningly beautiful medieval town". Travellers considering Croatia sailing holidays might also be interested in visiting the city of Rovinj on the Adriatic coast. This seaside hotspot could "easily masquerade as Venice", according to Mr McEntee, with a network of narrow streets and stone alleyways that lead to the picturesque waterfront. Rovinj is also a popular destination among high fliers such as Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and his girlfriend Daria Zhukova. Travellers can visit the Istria region before setting off on a Croatia sailing holiday from the port of Opatija to see destinations such as Krk, Rab and Zadar. ![]() |
