In a trend that could boost the popularity of Croatia sail and cycle holidays, British people are showing an increasing
interest in cycling, according to a Daily Telegraph report. The newspaper revealed that Britain is having a "love affair" with cycling that was fuelled by the success that British riders have enjoyed at the last two Olympic Games. People planning cycle holidays in Croatia can prepare for their trip by joining one of the 1,450 cycling clubs that are now open across the UK, with more than 150 opening since 2005. Last month, Sky arranged an event in London that saw 100,000 cyclists following a 15km route through the centre of the city. Corin Dimopoulos, director of cycling at Sky, told the Telegraph: "It was a great day and [a] huge wake-up moment. It seemed like you were part of a movement as much as a sport. "Cycling has a massive opportunity now and we see part of our role to knit together the elite level and participation at grass-roots level." Travellers can take Croatia sail and cycle holidays to discover some of the country's most beautiful islands and coastline. ![]() |
