Festivals provide an ideal way for people to experience a foreign destination during Croatia sailing holidays and other
trips abroad, according to a travel expert.James Bainbridge, author of the Lonely Planet book A Year of Festivals, said that tourism is beginning to develop around cultural traditions and events that are celebrated annually. People planning Croatia sailing holidays in the future will have the opportunity to attend the Dubrovnik Festival, a popular event that will run from July 10th to August 25th next year. Mr Bainbridge said that experiencing such events allows visitors to learn more about the true nature and character of their destination. "Festivals are a great way to get under a culture's skin, so you can go to a country and go to a big name festival that's taking place in that country," he commented. "It's a great way to see a concentrated presentation of that country's traditions, performances and everything that makes that country unique in one place." Travellers looking forward to Croatia sailing holidays next year can also visit Split to attend events such as the Summer Festival and the Film Festival. ![]() |
