Adventurous breaks such as sail and cycle holidays in Croatia look set to remain popular during the economic
downturn, an expert has predicted.Alun Davies, editor of Adventure Travel Online magazine, explained that people who have a passion for exciting and unusual activities are the least likely to sacrifice their pastimes to save money. He said that adventure travel becomes a part of one's lifestyle and annual trips are seen as more than just a leisurely getaway. Mr Davies offered cycle holidays as an example of the type of excursion that enthusiasts will be reluctant to give up. "With people who go on adventure holidays, it's part of their lifestyle, as opposed to people who go on beach holidays - that's more of a luxury in a way," he said. "People who go on adventure-type holidays - whether it's hiking, biking, climbing, rafting, that type of thing - they are enthusiasts so it will be the last thing they cut out." Adventure travellers can arrange Croatia sail and cycle holidays along the country's Dalmatian coast, or alternatively choose an Adriatic cruise that offers the option to try activities such as scuba diving and hiking. ![]() |
