The internet is set to be more widely used by Brits planning Croatia holidays and other breaks this
year, according to a recent survey.Crashpadder.com, a company that provides homestay accommodation around the world, questioned more than 1,200 people about their travel arrangements in 2010, TravelMole reports. Two thirds (66 per cent) of respondents to the poll said they will use the internet to book getaways such as Croatia sailing holidays this year, compared to 56 per cent who booked online in 2009. The worldwide web will also prove a useful planning tool, with nearly three quarters (72 per cent) of people saying they will go online to research their holiday. Stephen Rapoport, founder of Crashpadder.com, told TravelMole: "The internet is a powerful tool when it comes to big purchases like holidays. "Aside fromgenerally lower prices, people can read hundreds of impartial reviews on locations, hotels and airlines, as well as compare packages directly. It's a level of transparency which traditional travel agents simply can't offer." People who book their Croatia sailing holidays online can also arrange special activities such as walking tours and scuba diving trips. ![]() |
