Holidaymakers enjoying Adriatic cruises this year will have the chance to stop off in Zadar to see an
impressive sight in the city's cathedral.St Anastasia Cathedral recently received a new organ that is worth 915,000 (£807,420), the Croatian Times reported. The instrument features over 4,000 pipes and was made at Eisenbarth workshop in Passau, Germany. It is the third biggest organ in Croatia, with the two larger ones located at cathedrals in Zagreb and Djakovo. The new addition to St Anastasia Cathedral was blessed by Ivan Predja, Archbishop of Zadar, and was played for the first time yesterday (January 14th). People who decide to visit the city during Croatia sailing holidays can also explore its old town, which is home to a number of historic churches. Zadar features on an Adriatic cruise itinerary that begins in Split and takes visitors to several destinations along the Dalmatian coast, including Sali, Vodice and Trogir. ![]() |
