| Top five things to do on a Croatia holiday |

Sailing the Dalmatian coast and exploring the mountains and islands are just two of the things tourists should do during
their Croatia holiday.According to travel journalist Daniel Landon, writing for TNT magazine, there are five things that simply must be experienced during a break in the country. Taking to the seas between Split and Dubrovnik is the first on the list, which will please those planning an Adriatic cruise. Mr Landon recommended going on an island hopping trip, visiting some of the interesting places along the coast between sunbathing sessions on the deck. Tourists must also head inland to take in the stunning mountain scenery, he added, perhaps hiring a bike and enjoying some cycling in the forests. And of course no Croatia holiday would be complete without sampling the local cuisine, from Balkan dishes in inland areas to Mediterranean fare on the coast. For daytime and evening entertainment, Mr Landon said holidaymakers should spend time touring Croatia's historical towns, such as Hvar, Korcula and Split, before heading to one of its lively bars or clubs. Meri Matesic, director of the Croatian National Tourist Office, said recently that Croatia is a great destination for activity holidays, as it offers opportunities for sailing, diving, mountain biking and walking. ![]() |
