Tourists planning Croatia holidays may be wondering what to read during their time in the country.Rather than taking classic literature or contemporary novels, they should perhaps follow the example of the locals and enjoy some lighter reading. According to the Croatian Times, most of those living in the country read crime stories and romances novels when they go to the beach. A survey by Croatian daily Jutarnji List revealed that some of the most popular authors for beach lovers in Croatia are Agatha Christie and Danielle Steel. Of course there are plenty of beautiful beaches for book worms to relax on in the country, particularly if they go island hopping on an Adriatic cruise. In a recent travel article, experts at the Telegraph newspaper recommended visiting the beaches just off Korcula Island, especially theProizd islet, which is described as a "geological wonder". Holiday makers could curl up on the sand with a good book and enjoy the stunning views of this maquis covered stretch of coastline. ![]() |
