Financial Failure - How your Payments are Protected
It is a UK and EU requirement for all payments made for package holidays to be protected against financial failure.
At Sail Croatia we believe it is important to ensure customers feel comfortable booking with our company. In the unlikely event of insolvency we have in place financial failure insurance to protect your payments.
Unfortunately not all tour operators comply and can avoid the regulations by operating outside of the EU through their corporate structure avoiding the associated insurance costs. Others just tend to ignore the regulations knowing they are rarely enforced by Trading Standards in the UK. Croatia is outside of the EU and although there is an obligation in place and professional bodies monitoring this there is no clear process given by local organisations and tour operators.
We have investigated the various schemes including leading brands in the UK that offer holiday protection, however not all offer 100% guaranteed cover no matter how you pay. For example exclusions can exist for card payments or exclude customers booking from outside of the UK.
All payments made to Sail Croatia are underwritten and insured with IGI Insurance, one of the UK’s leading insurance underwriters working within the Travel & Tourism sector. IGI Insurance are members of the Financial Services Authority and are themselves covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
IGI protection covers all payments, for all travellers, from all countries – no matter how payments are made. Claims are made direct to IGI insurance so there are no intermediaries to complicate and slow the process.
Certification of cover is provided to all customers through a master insurance certificateand claims can be made by providing proof of payment and your confirmation invoice which we issue on receipt of payment.
