Bike SpecificationWe use hard tailed mountain bikes which offer comfort and the necessary stability to manage all the terrain we cover. Approximately 90% of riding is on sealed roads and paths and there is a small amount of smooth off-road cycling. The bikes are stored onboard the ships and are loaded and unloaded by the ship crew at the ports.
Cycle hire for the week is £90 which includes:
Should you wish to bring your own clip-on shoes please ensure you also bring peddles which can be fitted onto our bikes as they are standard.
We do not provide water bottles although 500ml bottles of water are sold onboard the ships and these fit nicely in the holders. A water supplement of EUR20 will provide 1.5 litres of cooled bottled spring water each day and many customers bring hyrdation packs as alternatives to using water bottles. You will not be allowed to bring drinks onto the boat, although of course you will be able to purchase water in the ports or along the routes.
For 2011/12 Season we are using Trek Mountain Bikes.

The bikes come in many sizes and we ensure we have spare bikes available to allow additional sizes are available and for back-up in the case of running issues. Fitting is done on day 1 with additional seat adjustment. The headstocks are not able to be adjusted for height although bars can be rotated forward or backwards if required. Maintenance is conducted throughout the week by our experienced cycle guides who carry with them the necessary tools, spare inner tubes and repair kits to ensure the smooth running and operation of all bikes. They will also be on hand to assist you with your own bikes should you need help with repairs.
