What are Navigator Cruises?
Navigator Cruises are our most popular party cruises for independent, like-minded travellers between the ages of 18 and 39. Each ship has a dedicated Tour Representative and takes in the best destinations and nightlife Croatia has to offer! If you’re looking for a different cruise experience, view our Croatia small ship cruises.
What time does the cruise start/finish?
Check-in is available between 10.30am and 12.00pm on day 1 of your cruise. If you're travelling on the Dubrovnik - Split itinerary you will stay in Dubrovnik for the first night, and if you’re travelling on the Split - Dubrovnik itinerary you will stay in Split for the first night. All other itineraries will depart the harbour at 1pm. All ships arrive at their final destination one day before check-out, where you will spend the night onboard. Check-out the following morning is between 8am and 9am. If you’re unable to make it to check-in on time, you can easily catch up with your ship at your first destination. Please see FAQ: What if I can’t make the check-in time?
What if I can’t make the check-in time?
If you’re unable to arrive at your departure point for check-in, it’s easy to catch up with your ship at your first destination. See information on how to get to your first destination below:
- Split Return South: your first night will be spent on Hvar Island, which is easily accessible via ferry from Split to Hvar Town (1.5 hours) or Split - Stari Grad (2 hours). You can find ferry timetables online here and here.
- Split - Dubrovnik: your ship will stay overnight in Split on night 1, so arriving late is not a problem!
- Dubrovnik - Split: your ship will stay overnight in Dubrovnik on night 1, so arriving late is not a problem!
If you need assistance planning your arrival, a member of our Sales Team will be happy to help you connect the dots! We are able to provide land based transfers if required, or our Operations Team are also able to assist you on the ground with logistics.
What are the cabin arrangements?
Cabins are based on 2 sharing, and consist of twin beds, bunk beds or one double bed. If you’d prefer a certain cabin type, it is important you let us know this upon booking, so we are aware and will note your preference. Our ship allocation is finalised a week before departure, so we are unable to 100% guarantee a twin bed or double bed cabin. This is due to the fact that each of our ships have completely unique cabin configurations (and therefore always consist of a different number of twin and double cabins available onboard). We will do our best to accommodate preferences based on those who book first, however we're unable to confirm bed types at the time of booking.
On some ships, we also have triple cabins available for guests that are travelling as a group of three and would like to share a cabin. Triple cabins consist of a double bed and a single bunk, and we provide a 10% discount per person for these cabin types. In some Triple cabins, double beds may be slightly smaller to accommodate the additional single bed, meaning these cabins may not be suitable for travellers that require more space. If you would like to book a triple cabin please let us know and we can check availability when you enquire.
What is the difference between Above Deck and Lower Deck cabins?
At the booking stage, you will have the option to select a Lower Deck or an Above Deck cabin onboard the ship. Above Deck cabins are located on the main deck of the ship and may have internal or external access. The main benefit with the Above Deck cabins is that they are on the main or upper deck, easily accessible without having to use the stairs!
On some of the ships the Above Deck cabins are located on 2 levels, i.e. on the main deck and on a top deck. The Lower Deck cabins are situated in the hull of the ship and are accessed via stairs from the main deck down into the hull. The Lower Deck cabins are slightly more affordable than the Above Deck cabins, however they are often cooler and quieter in the evenings.
Please note: Above Deck cabins are either equipped with a window or a port hole, some of these will be fixed and cannot be opened. Lower Deck cabins are equipped with a port hole which cannot be opened. Each ship is unique and therefore the layout does vary from ship to ship.
Which ship type would suit me?
We have 3 ship types available on Navigator cruises; Standard, Ensuite and Premier, as well as our most luxurious ships operating on the VIP Cruises. Standard ships are the cheapest option and have shared bathroom facilities. Ensuite ship cabins have their own toilet and shower, and Premier ships are more modern in style and offer ensuite facilities, as well as air-conditioning. Our VIP Ships are a cut above the rest, featuring ensuite air-conditioned cabins, spacious decks and a jacuzzi!
How many bathrooms and toilets are there on Standard ships?
On average there are 4 or 5 toilets/showers on the Standard boats. Ratio is around 1 toilet/shower to 5-6 travellers.
How do you allocate solo and odd numbered travellers?
For those that are in odd numbered groups, or travelling solo, you will share your cabin with another like-minded traveller of the
same sex. If you'd prefer to have a cabin to yourself, there is a single supplement available (an additional 50% of the per person website
price), that can be added to your booking. Please note single supplements are limited in their availability and are not applicable on Special Offers or discounted
cruises.
What food is included?
Breakfast and a 3-course lunch are included daily on all cruises. Dinner is not included, as we encourage our clients to explore
the local towns in the evening, experiencing local food and wine! Of course we can offer suggestions on the best places to go!
Breakfast onboard Standard and Ensuite ships is continental style and includes bread and spreads. You can pay an English breakfast
supplement of 40 Euros/week if you would prefer a cooked breakfast daily (payable onboard). Breakfast onboard Premier and Premier
Plus ships usually consists of eggs, bacon, bread and spreads. Lunches are usually 3 courses, with a soup/salad starter, meat or
fish-based main course and fruit/cake for dessert.
Can I bring food and drink onboard?
You cannot bring food and drink onboard the ship, except for items that fill specific dietary requirements. Each boat has its own
bar and drinks consumed onboard (including bottled water) must be purchased from here. You have unlimited access to the onboard
water cooler during the salon opening times. We recommend bringing a re-usable water bottle with you onboard, and filling this up
before the salon closes for the evening.
How do I buy drinks onboard?
All drinks, and optional onboard dinners will be added to your bar tab. Bar tabs are recorded throughout the week and are payable in cash (Euros) at the end of your cruise.
Are there any local payments that I need to be aware of?
A local payment of 30 Euros per person is payable onboard your Sail Croatia Cruise. This payment incorporates port fees and
tourist taxes throughout the week and is subject to
change.
What type of luggage should I bring?
If you’re joining us from within Europe, we highly recommend limiting your luggage to one suitcase; however, we understand that
this might not be possible for international travellers who are flying in just for the cruise, or on extended trips. Unless you’re
booked on a Premier or Premier Plus Ship, your Ensuite or Standard Ship’s cabin won’t be overly large as these are traditional
Croatian Ships and storage is limited. In most cabins, you will be able to store bags under the bed; however, in the case of
excess luggage, please ask check-in staff to give you additional information about possible storage.

Yes, we highly recommend that you take out Travel Insurance that would cover cancellation, personal injury, medical expenses, personal
liability & loss of personal property before you travel with us. It’s also important to check that your insurance covers all of the
optional excursions you may be doing whilst onboard the cruise with us. Find out more about Travel Insurance here.
Please note: Once a booking is confirmed, there are fees applicable if you need to make a change to your booking or if you need to
cancel. All fees can be found on our Booking Terms. Whilst we are unable to offer refunds, we can provide a letter confirming your
cancellation with us which may aid your Travel Insurance claim, if required.
