Sailing holidays in Croatia can offer British tourists value for money, a currency expert has said.Research from the Post Office revealed that Croatia's currency - the kuna - is popular with Brits looking for affordable breaks compared with destinations located within the eurozone. Brits embarking on Croatian sailing holidays are increasingly looking for countries where the cost of living is relatively inexpensive and sterling remains strong against the local currency, the organisation explained. Sarah Munro, head of Post Office Travel Services, said that holidaymakers can help themselves make a break cheaper by being more organised before they set off. "UK travellers can save themselves unnecessary extra cost by buying foreign currency in advance or taking the Post Office pre-paid Travel Money Card, rather than changing money at the airport or at an overseas ATM, and incurring commission feesor charges on cards." Earlier in the year Croatia's kuna made it into the top ten of the fastest growing foreign currencies purchased by British holidaymakers. ![]() |
