The recession has not stopped older travellers wanting to embark on Dubrovnik cruises and other adventurous trips abroad,
according to research.A survey carried out by World Travel Market (WTM) found that 54 per cent of people consider their holidays sacrosanct and will ignore the economic downturn, two thirds of whom are over the age of 60. The poll, which was conducted ahead of the launch of this year's WTM in London on November 9th, also found that many over-60s have enjoyed Croatia sailing holidays and other breaks this year but are already planning their trips for 2010. Fiona Jeffery, chairman of WTM, said: "Eighty per cent of the public sampled admit issues such as poor currency exchange rates and flight taxes won't deter them. And of those people, the over-60s is the biggest grouping (84 per cent). "Theyare fitter and more adventurous and are not prepared to let a recession spoil their fun." Croatia sailing holidays provide an exciting and memorable experience for people of all ages, offering the opportunity to see famous destinations such as Dubrovnik and Split. ![]() |
