Oh Croatia - what a BEAUTIFUL country you are!! We sailed on the Almissa from Dubrovnik to Split abd then took a bus back down to Dubrovnik for our return flight home. You really couldn’t have asked for more! Food was amazing, service was outstanding and the scenery was fairytale like!!!

Very well organised from start to finish. Daily briefings, amazing rides (v easy on electric bike) and plenty of tasty food ! Cabins were quite basic but were en suite and had air-con. Plenty of time to sunbathe on deck or visit the islands. Some extra excursions and meals organised for those who wanted to but no pressure to go. All the staff were great esp our group leader Calum (& Srdan) - who had a great knowledge of the Croatian history as well as sorting any issues out throughout the week such as food preferences and general recommendations. Average age was around 60 on the boat (the Mali Luka) with a lovely bunch mainly from USA and Australia and NZ. Busy week as up early but a great way to explore the lovely islands. Water so clean and refreshing. All the towns well kept. Pebble beaches (not sand). We did Split to Dubrovnik route then had a couple of nights in hotel in Lapad (Dub) to relax. Thanks Sail Croatia for a memorable trip !

We have just completed cycling sail croatia week. A few recommendations for sail croatia to consider for upcoming trips, and for travellers who are considering this trip. If you are travelling as a couple you need to specify you want a double room. The food on the boat was very tasty however the orange juice in the morning could be greatly improved. They could also increase their variety of wines on board. Miranda our cycling leader was excellent and very supportive. Time spent in some of the villaages I felt was rushed, definitely wished we had a longer duration in Havar. If you enjoy an active holiday this is definitely one to consider as a way to see Croatia.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the cycling, found the food tasty, and that Miranda made such a positive impact on your trip. Regarding the bedding configuration, whilst we're unable to guarantee specific bed types on our Cycle Croatia cruises due to the varying layouts of our vessels, we absolutely welcome guests to let us know if they have a preferred bedding configuration. We do our best to accommodate these requests wherever possible; however, as ship allocations are finalised closer to departure and each vessel has its own unique cabin configuration, we are unable to guarantee them. This information is outlined on our website and within our booking information prior to travel. For guests seeking guaranteed bedding configurations, our Luxury Cycle cruises offer this option. We also appreciate your suggestions regarding the orange juice, wine selection, and the amount of time spent in some of the destinations. Thank you again for your valuable feedback, and we hope to welcome you back to Croatia in the future.
Fantastic. Boat food was middle to good but not outstanding. Trip was overall fantastic.

Overall I have a great time both on and off the boat. The crew was friendly and professional. The experience was memorable. If the age grouping could be fine tuned a little I would def consider another trip with sail Croatia. I was a little out of place with a group who were older than I was. My age or slightly younger would have been preferable.
- Anonymous, 30/06/2026 04:06, Travelled Solo
The trip was well organized however the app made it difficult to determine the planned daily distances, leaving me to retrieve information from previously emailed tour notes. Be great to have it all in one place.

Enjoyed the biking and guides. Crew was great.Views were spectacular. The cabin left a lot to be desired. Terrible mattress, bathroom was a mess, couldn’t shower without wetting the whole room, AC was subpar.. The food was mostly good, with several poor mains and sides. fruit cocktail from a can should not be served for dessert. drink prices on board were extremely high, five euros for a small Coke..
- Anonymous, 24/06/2026 08:21, Travelled in a Couple
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the cycling, found the guides and crew to be great, and were able to take in the spectacular views throughout your journey. We also appreciate your honest comments regarding the cabin, dining, and onboard drinks. Guest feedback is invaluable in helping us identify areas where we can improve, and we will be sharing your observations with our operations and catering teams for review. While we're pleased that much of the food met your tastes, we're sorry that certain meals and aspects of the cabin experience fell short. We do note that meal ratings from other guests on your departure averaged 4.57 out of 5; however, we fully appreciate that dining experiences and personal tastes can vary from guest to guest, and we respect your individual perspective. Thank you again for travelling with us. We truly value your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you onboard another adventure in the future.

A to be repeated expectation of extraordinary landscape exercise and relaxation led by a wonderful group of integrated staff, guides Tonka and Callum and a much respected leader.... The Mali Luka Captain Ivan and his trainee. Thank you everyone. Georgie
- Georgie, 19/06/2026 06:33, Travelled Solo
Overall it was wonderful. The full group of passengers were amazing and Croatia is stunning. Our hikes were beautiful. Our cabin was quite small and very damp. Our clothes and towels never felt dry. We were thankful that it was cool and quieter during the night when parked next to party boats, though it was a bit noisy when the engines started in the morning. We thought the food was quite good. In sum, great experience and would choose a bit nicer ship next time.
- Anonymous, 17/06/2026 09:59, Travelled in a Couple
The ship Emanuel is a well renovated 1955 small passenger ship with maximizing passenger carrying at expense of cabin space. The ship is rated standard when the brochure said Premier grade for the hiking cruise. Food was unimaginative but acceptable and drinks overpriced. Tea and coffee should be freely available during the day. The cabin was clean with a hard and lumpy bed, noise from outside was a problem at times as we were on the corridor connecting other ships alongside and music was often loud but finished at 11pm. Crew and guides were friendly and helpful but more info on the history and other information about the places visited would be good. The cruise itself visited some wonderful places and i wouldn't have missed it but things could have been done better.
- Graham, 15/06/2026 16:24, Travelled in a Couple
Hi Graham, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed the itinerary and the wonderful destinations visited, as well as the service provided by our crew and guides. Emanuel is classified within our Premier Ship category, offering amenities such as private ensuite bathrooms and air-conditioned cabins. As a traditionally built vessel, cabin sizes and layouts differ from ship to ship. For guests seeking a higher level of onboard comfort and space, we also offer our Premier Plus ship category vessels. Regarding the noise, the ports we visit operate under their own local regulations and curfews, and activity from neighbouring vessels can occasionally be beyond our control. We appreciate your comments regarding the food, onboard amenities, and guided commentary, and will take these into consideration as we continue to improve our guest experience.
We loved seeing the Dalmation Islands, the beautiful walks and we enjoyed the public areas of the boat, Emanuel. However in the small cabin the bed was hard and lumpy. The addition of decent mattress toppers would be an easy fix and a big improvement. While I appreciate limited galley space, the food could be easily improved with forethought. For example for vegetarians a homemade lentil and spinach soup would be a simple and massive improvement on powdered mushroom soup. The salads were very basic; lettuce in a bowl and likewise could be upgraded with a few extras and with the addition of, for example, cooked potatoes chick peas with decent bread would have been a nicer main course than fried vege fritters from a packet. One day we had lunch of potato crocquettes with potato and vege fritters and chips, all from a packet, all fried! Breakfasts were good with nice vege choice. Bar a bit pricey. Tea and coffee all day should be included for the price of the holiday.

Brilliant , Lauren was fantastic. The crew were awesome! We had a good blend of people on the boat, from all over the world. Food was good and the places where we went were absolutely beautiful. The only complaint I have was the bed and sheets were a little short for me I am 6’2” I didn’t like the fact we had to “pay in cash” for the bar tab and local taxes at the end of the trip.
- Anonymous, 15/06/2026 06:59, Travelled Solo
Wonderful, beautiful scenery ! Marin & Johnny were the perfect pair and excellent guides delivering 5/5 stars! Marin's historical knowledge was impressive; he was a mine of information and great local recommendations, he really took care of everyone! Johnny gave us the best restaurant recommendations or tips of where to go. Some of the bike rides took us up very steep hills and windy roads close to the cliff edges and while the views were beautiful I'm scared of heights, but luckily Johnny was there to support and kindly encourage me down, he was lovely! Kerim our bartender was very attentive & our food was good! Our ship was immaculate but it was older so while we had an upper cabin our bed was positioned up against the wall so I had crawl over the bed to get to my side. It wasn't the end of the world but we felt like we were camping :) which is why I am giving this review 4 stars! I'd highly recommend this trip, all the islands we visited were amazing and we loved Croatia!

I wouldn’t ever sail on the standard of boat used on this trip because the cabins were pretty much all of a low standard in one way or another. Additionally noise at night was a significant issue, due to tie ups in harbour. Sleep quality on the boat was poor and the cabin air conditioning caused throat problems. The tipping expectations for staff on this boat of about 20% of the cost of the trip were ridiculous. No one tipped that much, Other people on the boat great fun. Ilona was a very good hike leader. Food on board ok to good, but why no menu for the week or choices? Would go to Croatia again but on a land based tour. The hikes were worth doing. None of our friends would tolerate the standard of boat so wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Hi there, Thank you for your 3-Star review and for taking the time to leave your feedback. It is great to hear that you enjoyed the company of your fellow travellers and that Ilona was a very good hike leader. We will be sure to pass on your comments to Ilona. We are also pleased to hear that the food onboard was good. As per our website our guests enjoy a 3 course lunch daily which received a high score of 4.67 out of 5 from your particular departure. We could't agree more that the hikes are worth doing. Our Hike cruises certainly do allow you to completely immerse yourself in the beautiful nature of this country and year after year these type of holidays are becoming more and more popular. We are however sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy certain aspects of the ship and thank you for your feedback received during the week and after the cruise. We understand you tried to book our Luxury Hike cruise which unfortunately was sold out - and this somewhat left you disappointed with your Premier ship experience. We would like to highlight that the feedback collected from our guests at the end of the cruise resulted in an outstanding overall score for the ship of 4.79 out of 5. Thank you for sharing your comments regarding the noise in port. It is correct that all the ships - as with any tour operator in Croatia - are moored up in the harbours at night. As is the case with any type of cruise and group travel, one must expect a certain degree of noise - whether from onboard social activity, natural sounds and mechanics of being on a ship as well as the surrounding people from other ships. As outlined in our pre-departure documentation and guest App, tipping is entirely optional. The crew onboard our ships are paid fairly for their work; however, gratuities are a widely recognised way for guests to acknowledge exceptional service. Many guests choose to leave a tip as a gesture of appreciation, however this is always at each individual's discretion. Thank you once again for travelling with us.
Fantastic, loved the island rides especially in quiet places. Amazing coastline and beautiful views. Great guides and staff. Things that need improvement . 1 needed softer mattress 2. A system to log guests on and off securely so no-one can get left behind. 3. Give all info before getting off to start riding to save confusion. 4. Do not rely on apps as not all can use mb phones when traveling & riding. 5. Self serve Tea and coffee should be available free to guests.6. Meals do not need to be so formal or take up so much time. 7. Bikes need bells for safety and small panier bags to carry items securely.

We really enjoyed our week on Aphradita. Sasha and Natasha were great hosts and guides. The hiking was perfect - the week was a perfect balance of activity and down time. Would recommend.
- Sandra, 05/06/2026 20:39, Travelled in a Couple
We enjoyed the bike rides, the sceneries were beautiful. The e-bikes worked very well. The group was a bit too large, a bit squeezed on the boat. The meals were excellent but we would have liked at time more buffet or picnic type of meal. We enjoyed a lot swimming from the boat, the Adriatic sea is so beautiful . Our guides, Marin and Martin, were excellent. They cared a lot for the security and were extremely knowledgeable, very pleasant peuple, I recommend them to all the groups.
- Nicole, 05/06/2026 12:11, Travelled in a Couple
Our guides were amazing. Crew brilliant. Costs such as port taxes and park fees were a bit of a surprise. Cabin was on the lower deck and was really damp even with the door left ajar. We were not allowed to open the portholes overnight whilst docked. Double bed was way too high to get in and out of comfortably.
- Anonymous, 03/06/2026 19:14, Travelled in a Couple
It was great overall. Some of the things outside of the biking was that things like port taxes and park fees were not included in the costs. The cabins were also quite damp below deck and our bed you nearly had to take a run and jump to get into it as it was really high. Not great for an older couple.
- Anonymous, 03/06/2026 19:10, Travelled in a Couple
Great! loved the cycling and the tour guides. Our days out on the bikes were absolutely great. Both Marin and Martin did everything they could to make the trip enjoyable. My concerns were with things that were in the Captains control: 1. Why was air conditioning not on every night? not on for both first and last night which is poor. 2. bedding was sub par at best, poor quality and could have used an extra pillow. 3. Food was not great. I feel an al a carte menu would have been better as this was eat what you get which really was not appealing to me for a trip with this price. Our daughter was with us, she eats vegetarian and her food was absolutely terrible. Boris, the chef, needs to do better! 4. on board bar was poorly stocked. We would have used this service if items were available but it was basically just one wine and draft beer.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're delighted to hear that you loved the cycling experience and that Marin and Martin helped make your trip so enjoyable. We will be sure to pass on your kind comments to them, as our guides work incredibly hard to create memorable experiences for our guests. We're sorry to hear that certain aspects of the onboard experience did not fully meet your expectations. We appreciate your comments regarding the air conditioning, cabin comfort, food offerings, vegetarian meals, and onboard bar selection. As the vessel relies on shore power while docked for the air conditioning system to operate, occasional interruptions can occur if the shore power connection is temporarily disconnected. We understand that these elements play an important role in the overall guest experience, and we will ensure your feedback is shared with the vessel operator for review and consideration. In particular, we're sorry to hear that the meals, including the vegetarian options provided for your daughter, did not meet your expectations. We recognise the importance of catering to a variety of dietary preferences and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Thank you again for your constructive feedback and recommendation. We truly value guest insights as they help us continue to improve our experiences.
Try to get pics of room prior to booking-I think we had the worst room on the boat. Room 2 on Tempera has a large intrusion in the room from the next door curved staircase requiring you to hunch over on far side of bed when getting in or out. That closet opens up ONTO the bed and is almost unuseable. The tiny curved table in the room slants down so things slide off of it. The bed was comfortable and the room size decent. The breakfast was good- sausage, eggs, fruit, pastries…. but I (and many other judging by appearances) found the lunches inedible. greasy rice stuffed pepper served with cold mashed potatoes, a bowl of buttered noidles served with a small thin slice of overcooked meat served with more noodles, Very carb heavy and mostly served warm not hot. Soups and desserts were good.
- Trish, 02/06/2026 05:10, Travelled in a Couple
We had a lovely time on our Sail Croatia Bike Cruise. I will recommend but with these suggestions. The food on our ship was not great. Edible but poorer quality than I expected. The crew tended to be quite surly and mostly smoked or were on their phones. Our guides were phenomenal and did a fantastic job. They really made the trip. The bikes (we all had e-bikes) were very good quality and easy to use. The scenery was fantastic and luckily we had a large (33 passengers) group but everyone was great and got along well. I would strongly suggest upgrading to premier plus or looking at a higher quality company if good food and a nice ship are important to you.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're delighted to hear that you had a lovely time overall and that the guides, bikes, scenery, and the experience with your fellow travellers helped make it so memorable. We're sorry to hear that the food and onboard service did not fully meet your expectations. We appreciate your comments regarding both the meal quality and your interactions with the crew, and we have already shared this feedback with our team for review and improvements. It's wonderful to hear such positive comments about your guides, who work incredibly hard to create an enjoyable and safe experience for our guests. We're also pleased that you found the e-bikes to be of a high standard and were able to enjoy the stunning Croatian coastline. Thank you again for your constructive feedback and recommendation. We truly value guest insights as they help us continue to improve our experiences.
Great holiday, the staff were excellent and the ship was fantastic. There is room for improvement. More ventilation in the lower cabins, aircon wasn’t effective. The coffee was very bad and there could be more fruit at breakfast and some soap included would be helpful. Also if beach towels are not provided it would be good to know that before we left Australia. Apart from that it was a great part of our trip
- Anonymous, 30/05/2026 05:14, Travelled in a Couple
Our holiday was very relaxing. Dino was 5 stars and so were the rest of the crew. Great way to see the islands. The only reason we rated 4stars instead of 5 is because we would have preferred not to be served a full 3 course meal at lunch. A buffet would have been better. Save the big meal for when we were in the towns. As it was we ate two dinner type meals a day until we decided to just not eat lunch on the ship.
- Anonymous, 27/05/2026 17:06, Travelled in a Couple
I filled the quick review onboard but understood there would be a more thorough evaluation of our trip. The biggest concern I had was the food. It was not up to standard. You should hire qualified trained chefs. Thousand island salad dressing was over poured on all salads. White bread for the most part. Not alot of citrus fruit. Overcooked tuna at captains dinner and appetizer unappealing. The captain wore a sweatshirt at the captains dinner. You couldn’t order a glass of wine you needed to buy a bottle. .

I had a fantastic time on my Sail Croatia cruise—the route, crew, and food were all great. That said, I was surprised by the 40€ tourist tax per person, which wasn’t clearly explained upfront and for which I received no receipt. I also wasn’t comfortable with how our passports were left in an unlocked plastic box in the dining salon at night, with no visible security. Tipping felt a bit awkward too, especially when envelopes were later collected over WhatsApp after limited communication. Overall, I’d still recommend Sail Croatia, but these small improvements would make the experience even better.
- Anonymous, 25/05/2026 05:42, Travelled in a Couple
Thank you for your feedback and for joining us - we’re really glad to hear you had a fantastic time onboard and enjoyed the route, crew, and food. The €40 local payment per person is payable onboard all Sail Croatia cruises. This fee covers port charges and tourist taxes throughout the week. We do communicate this in advance via our FAQs, your Online Account, all payment receipts that are emailed to you, and pre-departure information, but we appreciate your feedback. Thank you also for your comments regarding tipping and passport storage - we value this insight and will pass it on to our operations team for review.
I had a great time. Guides were outstanding (Josko and Lauren). I felt safe in their hands. Itinerary: I would have preferred more kilometers The bikes were basic and minimal. I expected better quality, especially the non E-bikes. The boat was fine. I did not need anything fancier. More than adequate The food was good but often overcooked. (The captain was a great pilot, he has no business interfering in the kitchen) Portions too big; buffet style may be better. I appreciated breakfast as I could serve myself and the variety was perfect. The portions at lunch were way too big. I dont like wasting food. The staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. Consider other drinks at the bar (juice, lemonade…)

Boat crew were efficient. The two guides were knowledgable and helpful. Overall, the ride was fantastic with very good bikes and very amazing scenery.. HOWEVER, we did book and pay for a cabin with double bed. But instead got a single bed on one side and a bunk bed on the other side of the cabin which was dissapointing.
- Raymond Cooper, 19/05/2026 12:27, Travelled in a Couple
Hi Raymond, thank you for taking the time to review your Cycle cruise with us this season, and for sharing your feedback. We are pleased that you enjoyed the cycling experience, scenery, bikes and found both our crew and guides knowledgable and helpful. It is a shame to read of your disappointment regarding the cabin bedding arrangement. We would like to clarify that bedding configurations are not guaranteed unless specifically requested and confirmed prior to departure. Upon reviewing the booking, we can see that a request for a double bed was not submitted by your travel agent at the time of booking, and therefore this was not something our team had been made aware of in advance. We always aim to accommodate guest preferences wherever possible and appreciate your feedback. Thank you again, it was a pleasure to have you join us!
Okay. The food was average despite cooks efforts to prepare and serve quality food. There was no alcohol provided with Captains dinner. Staff were great!
- Anonymous, 19/05/2026 08:06, Travelled in a Couple
Great crew, great fellow tourers! The itinerary was excellent. The bikes were garbage. You should not offer a tour where cycling is a feature and then provide bikes that were selected on cost only. Our tour leader spent far too much time trying to keep the bikes operational.

Many great highlights - fabulous country and facilities Suggestions When arriving at Dubrovnik- do a full on water up and down around old town before we dock Lunches are great but heavy 3 course meal for lunch prefer lighter salad etc Service was great , host very knowledgeable Great boat
- Deborah, 12/05/2026 08:32, Travelled in a Couple
Although the entire experience was outstanding I do have a couple of points: 1.) As an experienced cyclist, I had no issues but I did see some areas of saftey that could be improved. There was confusion throughout the day as directions were, at times, incomplete and vague. 2.) Food was another issue as items at breakfast would run out and the main course lunches were mediocre. 3.) Coffee is always an issue for me and yours was the worst. (Sorry) 4.) I didn't understand why we couldn't pay our bar tab with a credit card. Many were short on cash and had to rush to an ATM. 5.) Whatsapp feature was great, would of been nice to get the days briefing in advance of actual briefing at 8:30 so we could follow along and have questions prepared. All in all our tour guides were friendly and well informed about the areas we visited and I would recommend this tour to friends The boat was immaculate and comfortable. Great way to see Croatia for the first time.

We had a good cruise that was made fantastic by the crew.
- Peter , 11/05/2026 13:14, Travelled in a Couple
Better quality ship. Emmanuel was old but clean and very middle of the road for overall amenities, a boat not a yacht; lunches were very good, breakfasts mediocre Cycling guides and routes were very good but too short ( advertise this as a leisurely cycling if e bikes being used) and the regular bycyles should not be allowed as we were constantly waiting for them to catch up. Also entrance fees to parks and historical sites should be included in the overall package. Similar to Viking make tipping a part of the trip package.

We enjoyed our travel of the Croatian islands with Sail Croatia. Ioana made the experience great ! She has given reliable information and realistic expectations of the activities every day. We made so many friends which added value to the experience itself! Food is great ! The cabin was spacious and clean. If anything, I would recommend all inclusive sailing, maybe offering 1 or 2 options of activities for the passengers to choose from . Thank you for this experience! Best, Arlyn and Thomas

Katerina is owned and crewed by the family. This is a 5 star rating. Ship is spotless and crew are the best. Owner and crew (mostly family and cousins) are so attentive to every detail. Meals: adequate and enjoyable but not outstanding. Captains' dinner was very good. Activities: not memorable. Walking tour in Dubrovnik was boring. Ship provided dinner was not impressive. Should have stayed in port and gone to local restaurant Ioana our tour director was 5 stars' She had to deal with a lot of shifting itinerary and was a truly shing star for the passengers. Overall was a nice experience. Met a lot of good people and that was a big plus; Croatia is very expensive on the street Plan to spend some BIG $$ in local establishments. Overall, a check on our bucket list. Nice but would not do again
- John, 10/10/2025 00:28, Travelled in a Couple
Our bike tour leaders Marin and Ilona were fantastic. Highly skilled, organized, caring and kept our group very safe. I thoroughly appreciated, as well enjoyed spending time with them. Sail Croatia should highly regard both these staff. A big 6 out of 5 for these two. They went way above beyond what was well beyond the minimum they needed to do.

We sailed on the Queen Jelena (Split North itinerary). Beautiful boat, really good crew. The food onboard was just OK, often just warm rather than hot. A 3 course lunch is not what most people have day to day at home and the thoughts from fellow passengers were thst this was a bit rigid and maybe a buffet style lighter lunch would be better as it felt you had breakfast and a couple of hours later a large lunch making you lethargic. Trips were ok, village dinner was good, buggy trip was good but not best value. More time needed in Dubrovnik as it beautiful, I would skip the walking tour (pointless) and enjoy more time exploring yourself. All stops on this itinerary were beautiful. One last point; the daily briefing should be carried out using the TV in the saloon as shown on the website content so you can actually get a visual idea of your day ahead. The WhatsApp group is useful when it's set up. Overall a good experience, 7.5/ 10
- Paul , 07/10/2025 05:49, Travelled in a Couple
The staff were amazing. Mario, the Sail Croatia rep on the boat, was friendly, very knowledgeable and spoke several languages fluently. Matte the walk guide was clearly experienced but also patient and able to adjust to the needs of the group. The crew of the Mali Ante were delightful and went out of their way to make sure we had a great holiday. The cabins were small but had plenty of storage and the shower was great. The food was homely, crowd pleasing and generous. We got to know everyone on the trip and enjoyed the multinational vibe..
