The ship Emanuel is a well renovated 1955 small passenger ship with maximizing passenger carrying at expense of cabin space. The ship is rated standard when the brochure said Premier grade for the hiking cruise. Food was unimaginative but acceptable and drinks overpriced. Tea and coffee should be freely available during the day. The cabin was clean with a hard and lumpy bed, noise from outside was a problem at times as we were on the corridor connecting other ships alongside and music was often loud but finished at 11pm. Crew and guides were friendly and helpful but more info on the history and other information about the places visited would be good. The cruise itself visited some wonderful places and i wouldn't have missed it but things could have been done better.

We enjoyed 7 days of beauty, history, hiking, and wonderful service! The staff of Salve di Mare were top notch. Servers Marko and Vlaho, Housekeeper Julija, Representative Nikos, Trail Guide Illona, and Chef Bojan and Sous Chef Fani were all extraordinary. They were friendly, attentive, and well-organized. The deck hands kept everything ship shape, constantly cleaning or anticipating our next move. The daily breakfast buffet and 3-course lunch were top notch; thank goodness we were hiking so much!! Each day/port was amazing with the hikes, sightseeing, food, amazing Croatian history "lessons" from Nikos, incredible swim stops, and just feeling the breeze in our hair as we sailed each day. I recommend Sail Croatia's Luxury Hiking Cruise wholeheartedly. It more than met my expectations!

We really enjoyed our sail and hike trip on the Dalmation coastal islands. The trip was very well organised with great communication and leadership from beginning to end. The ship crew were friendly and helpful. Our tour leaders Natasha and Sasa were fantastic. Friendly, kind, and patient; genuinely good people. The structure of the trip was great, with flexibility to handle preferences from the group. We ended up hiking early and swimming late because it was already warm. The level of hikes were challenging without being exhausting. Definitely suitable for moderately experienced hikers and a reasonable fitness level. Happily everyone listened to the leaders well and there were no issues at all during the stay. Just a great fun time and the best way to see the islands. We would definitely do it again if our bucket list was shorter.

Mario and Matilda were amazing. They were personable and patient and they were attuned to our needs as hikers. The food was delicious and the Chef was delightful. We are vegetarians/pescatarian eaters and he was so very accommodating and creative. The hikes were lovely and challenged us but provided the most unbelievable vistas of Croatia. The ship, Mali Ante, was clean and stable due to the Captain's skill at maneuvering the ship. Special mention to Ivan in the dining hall. He was always pleasing and cheerful and his service was impeccable. Croatia is a beautiful country made more so by the staff of Sail Croatia. Thanks!

It was a really good holiday. Mario and Matilda were excellent guides the crew the Cook and the Captain were really helpful and really good people. People the only fault I could find was most boats I’ve been on have free tea, coffee available and afternoon snacks the places us we visited and the hiking that we went on we made all the easier by the crew and the tour guides we both really enjoyed it. The tip situation where we were supposed to have a blank envelope so it was at Unknown what cabin the tips came from did not happen the envelope had everyone’s room number on and name. I really feel like this needs clarifying from yourselves as you have already said the staff are well paid and tipping is optional and the amounts that were suggested from yourselves for per person I believe for far too high and I believe no amount should be suggested i.e. top end or bottom end for tips as this is down to the individual of what they can afford without feeling pressurised this tainted the holida

Myself, my wife and 9 friends had an absolutely brilliant week, sailing around Croatia on a perfectly sized boat (30 passengers). The accommodation was great, the food delicious and the amount of hiking spot on. Some hikes were challenging some were easy but it was a great balance. The boat was just the right size. No issues with crowds getting on and off, we came and went as we pleased. The staff was amazing from the captain to Mario our bartender/meal server, the cooks the crew ans of course our two guides Lola and Natasha were awesome. They provided detailed info as to what were going to do, had a good pace on the hikes and adjusted the schedule on the fly. These two are great problem solvers as to moving hikes and islands when needed. While we all knew in general where and what we were going to do it was so nice not ever having to worry as to the planning We travel alot and both said one of our top vacations

The crew of the Mali Ante were first rate. From the captain to the assistant cook, everyone was friendly , helpful, attentive to our needs and very informative. The hikes were more challenging than expected, but our tour guides, Lola and Natasha made each trek enjoyable, informative and rewarding. After the hikes, the daily swim sessions were just what we needed. I would recommend this trip to any who enjoy beautiful scenery coupled with food, history and exercise.

Captain, tour guides and front line staff were great. Room was not great with a bed that you could feel the metal springs, lumpy pillows, lights that didn’t work, safe that wasn’t opened, Generator noise was intrusive into the room during the night. In port the boats were often racked together so that you had to pass through multiple boats to get onto shore. This also trapped diesel exhaust fumes on still nights, making staying outside at the back of the boat uncomfortable.

The crew of the Mali Luka and our amazing hike guides Natasha and Ilona were a great team. We were surprised to find out this was the first week those two young women had worked together as they did a wonderful job. All the hikes and the options were well thought out. The planned wine tasting and group dinner were really good ideas as was the captains dinner. All the meals were well prepared and bountiful. One of the best parts.was the camaraderie that developed among our fellow travelers which truly made the week extra special and it was hard to say our goodbyes when the week ended. This was our first trip with Sail Croatia but it definitely will not be our last.

Everyone on the Afrodita works so hard, the ship was very well maintained and the food was great. The hike guides very good and well informed. The trails were not maintained by any standards basically goat paths. I slipped and fell on first hike injured my leg, cuts and bruised on the loose sharp rock. The guides Martin and ILona were great. Martin applied bandages to my leg to stop the bleeding then helped me finish the last kilometer back to the boat. I had to skip the hike the next day and only did 5 of the 7 hikes opting to do the easiest. Looking back I wish I knew the trail conditions, the length and elevations were all that I remember and the hikes were moderate. Next time we will do the elegant cruse. I wish I could give 5 stars.

The ship, the crew and the company were all superb. A beautiful ship, which was constantly being looked after by the enthusiastic crew, and a group of travellers from the far corners of the world who met and mixed throughout the week and who all became friends. Beautiful islands and interesting walks, led by Mate who was an excellent and experienced local guide and who gave us so much information about the history of each area. He really was an important part of the trip. And not to forget the breakfasts and lunches which were really good and gave us the calories to complete the walks and at a pace that suited all levels. Altogether a memorable week and a great way to mark our Golden Wedding.

Our Salve Di Mare hiking cruise was a great way to see and explore the Croatian coastline. Our hiking guide, Mate, was wonderful … expertise, organisation, humour, sensitivity and personality! The crew were attentive, hardworking and lovely. It was like being with one big family for the week. Beautiful food, a stylish boat, a great balance of hiking, picturesque swim stops and exploring beautiful small towns. We couldn’t have had a better group of fellow travellers …. everyone was so friendly and easy going. Great conversations, new friendships, fun dancing and relaxed vibes. We even managed a couple of spontaneous yoga sessions on the sun deck :-). This was such a memorable week in Croatia. Thanks everyone.

Everything was near perfection. The Sail Croatia Reps, Mila and Lola were fantastic, knowledgeable, knew how to keep things moving with grace and good does of humor. The Cabin Crew and Deck Crew were super friendly and acted with concern as a was recovering from a bout of food poisoning (not Sail Croatia's or the Emanuel's Fault). Fellow passengers were super friendly and everyone got along well. Suggestions: 1: Cabins are a bit Spartan and could use a design refreshment 2: Make hiking poles available (I could not bring mine due to carry-on luggage rules) 3: Serve lunch after the hikes

Many aspects: Being early in season we had it all to ourselves. Our small group of 14 made it very fun and social. The boat was clean and well maintained and the crew knew their business. My only issue was WiFi/internet access wa spotty at best.

From the first greeting at the dock in Split to making sure we had transport to our next destination in Dubrovnik, Anita made us feel like family. Each day’s activities were communicated through regular briefings and schedule updates on WhatsApp. Our hiking guide, Mate, explained the details of each walk and made sure we all felt confident with the pace and difficulty each time he led us to the magical views he shared with us. The crew were fantastic. The Captain changed some days around to avoid bad weather and rough seas. The food was great and the ship was always clean and tidy. We had a great time and the Sail Croatia guides and the Salve Di Mare crew made sure we were comfortable, active and well informed. We learnt so much about Croatia. Obviously a place loved by our guides and the crew. Thank you for sharing your country and your knowledge with us!!

We sailed on the Colombo last week. It was glorious. Though the weather was changeable, the atmosphere on board remained fun loving. Credit must go to the superb captain and crew for safe sailing and adaptability. Swim stops, meals and wonderful evenings will remain in the memory. Special mention must be made, though, of our two wonderful guides: Mate and Karla, not just because they were instructive experts in their hiking field, but also unifying us as a group. They were special and charmed us all. We were all sad to say goodbye at the end of the tour. We are now looking forward to our next Sail Croatia trip in 2025

The Sail Croatia Team and boat crew were superb from beginning to end. Hiking was challenging and rewarding with spectacular views. Meals are home cooked and delicious. The island ports are charming. We had a captain's dinner one night, a pizza night, lots of swimming, etc. It is a n active trip. But what made this cruise so special was making friends with the other travelers. I am a 17 year old non-speaking autistic who loves the sea and mountains. I had one of the best holidays ever, hiking on different islands everyday, whilst travelling & staying on a boat. The staff were exceptional, they were always fully inclusive and presumed competence in me. They gave me all the support I needed without patronising me, I felt empowered and leave this week with a wonderful sense of achievement and even more confidence in my abilities. The crew on the Emanuel were fantastic. The cabin was comfortable and the meals were good. The walks ( which require a good level of fitness) were outstanding. On our trip unfortunately the Sail Croatia guides were poor communicators and held too many poorly prepared briefings. Sail Croatia mis pricing it’s marchandise was a minor but sour note. In summary the islands of Croatia are magical and there are some magnificent hikes

First impression on boarding our allocated ship Eos, a three masted motor sailer, was we had drawn the short straw. It wasn’t as modern or sleek as most of the cruisers around us in Split harbour and our below deck cabin was tiny and cramped. However what followed was a week of brilliant fun and adventure that made the shortcomings of the accommodation seem a minor point. A new picture postcard location every day, beautiful ports, swim stops in secluded bays and a great group of fellow travellers from around the globe who we got to know on our daily hikes and evenings in the local bars cafes and restaurants. Our guides Mate and Lola were knowledgeable, responsible but also fun. The crew were great and the food on board was varied and tasty. The hikes were challenging but rewarding too, though I personally would have preferred more climbs with a bar at the top! We made some great friends and have fabulous memories of our week around the Islands of Croatia. Thanks to all.

We booked the seven night sail and hike trip, and it exceeded expectations. A wonderful way to visit new and interesting places, and get to see more than the main areas of each town. It also took us to places we wouldn’t have had time to visit on a regular trip. A special mention to the great crew of Eos, our ship for the stay. The crew looked after us so well. A bad storm meant reconfiguring the route. Very grateful to our captain’s wisdom in keeping us safe and our hike leaders for making sure we got in a hike every day despite the itinerary change. The staff were professional, pleasant, and caring. Food was excellent and varied. I required gluten free accommodation and it was taken care of. I will say that for me, the hikes were too rigorous; all involved a 1+ hour of unremitting climbing on rocky terrain. But I was in the minority. Most found the hikes perfect.

Lovely boat, in great condition, beautiful islands and fantastic walks, but even better were the friendly and helpful crew and guides who couldn't do enough for us and genuinely cared about making guests have the best experience. We had a spacious above deck room which was larger than expected and the rest of the boat was just the right size - big enough to be comfortable without feeling we were on a massive ship. Good food and super service. We didn't get the chance to use the sundeck as much as we would have liked as the weather was patchy with some strong rain storms – however, I believe this is rare for Croatia. And the crew and guides adapted the itinerary so that we had hikes (and other activities) every day - they really did all they could to make us have a good time. The group bonded and when the sun came out we were all the happier for it. Thanks Sail Croatia - we'd love to return!

We had an amazing week hiking through the Dalmatian Islands. Weather was not always on our side but the Sail Croatia team modified our itinerary to suit and we managed to get in a hike every day. The food on board was excellent. Our fellow passengers were also amazing. Huge thanks to Captain Vlado, and hike guides Mila and Mare.

We had a great holiday and enjoyed the hikes and the great company onboard. The breakfast was good with a mediocre lunch onboard. The guides were very helpful and the scenery spectacular we would recommend this holiday if you like the outdoors and want to meet new friends. Croatia is a beautiful country to explore.

We had a great time joining a hike cruise with Sail Croatia! We booked last minute, near the end of the season in October, and had a fantastic time! The crew and guides be were experienced, friendly, and knowledgeable. The other guests were a good mix of ages and nationalities. Everyone on the Hike cruise wanted to explore but also socialize, some good nights but no crazy partying. Matched exactly what we were looking for! The islands were exceptionally beautiful and all the stops were enjoyable. The hikes were good but sightly shorter than we would have liked, but that left lots of time to explore, and eat! The food was amazing, on the ship and on shore. It would be impossible to do this on your own at a similar price point, in a similar amount of time. We visited so many spots, with food, lodging, transport, and guides all rolled into one great week! Would highly recommend!

Excellent staff and guides, all very friendly. However I would like to make some recommendations. Much better if all walks started after breakfast. The first two days starting at 5pm meant the evenings were very rushed. A lot of the walks were up and back down the same track, would be better if they were of a circular route. Pace of walks was very slow but I realise this was to accommodate everyone. Could the group be divided into two one being faster paced and one slower? Would have been nice to spend the afternoon in Omis rather than sail back to Split at lunchtime. Omis was a beautiful resort with a nice beach, would have been nice to relax there for a few hours before the short trip back to split. Finally perhaps a bedding change midweek. Other than that a brilliant week and thanks to all the staff and crew who helped to make it such a great week.

We experienced great hospitality among staff and tour guides. They were willing to give everything for our enjoyment. The staff on the ship was amazing and the tour guides truly devoted to their job. Mate and Mila went the extra mile for us, each and every day. This trip had everything and more. Our boat Emanuel will be missed and everyone on board. "Get it down'ya"

The lovely staff aboard the Meliante especially Mario ( waiter), Antonio (chef) and Marte (our hiking guide). The food and catering for special diets and the availability of fruit and water all day. The weather was stunning in June and the beautiful islands. The hikes are very challenging, not for the faint hearted, but well worth the achievement of completing them. The swimming off the boat was great and it meant we saw other beautiful areas of the islands not readily accessable to others by land. We could have sometimes stayed a bit longer in those areas. The boat is maintained to a high standard and was clean. Compliments to all the staff for making this one of the best holiday experiences me and my wife have had.

Fantastic crew on the boat. Very attentive, excellent food and drink..Hiking guides Mate and Marin were very knowledgeable about the areas where we hiked and made sure all levels of walkers were looked after. Plenty of swim stops in beautiful bays and sea. This was our second trip will Sail Croatia and it didn't disappoint.

Loved every minute of my sailing and hiking trip. The hiking routes were challenging but not over the top. Incredible views on every well chosen hike. Our hiking guide Matè was excellent. Very knowledge and capable. Very good company too. He built a very good rapport with the group. The boat crew were very nice too and I was very happy with the accommodation. All the ports we stopped at were very nice too. We saw a lot of beautiful places around the islands. I would definitely recommend Sail Croatia to anyone.

-1st view of boat was filthy cabins and carpets -no welcome on-board - left to wonder around -1st 2nights no air conditioning -3rd night no hot water -couldn't lock cabin door -no key for internal locker -hostess very rude & didn't know how to work equipment to provide hot water or couldn't be bothered. -Staff underwear hanging outside out cabin door. -bedding not changed until after 5th night even though we were sweating like mad with no air con. -would have been good to have sea toys/paddleboard/laylo type etc. to enjoy. -couldn't buy single glass of wine, had to buy whole bottle. Also fridge was broken so couldn't be kept for next day. -on return from hikes, no staff available to serve drinks. Thankfully our tour guide Mate dealt with these issues as without him it could have been a whole lot worse. Mate deserves full credit for making this an enjoyable trip regardless of the issues we continually faced.

The companionship of our fellow travellers made the week a really enjoyable experience. The crew were excellent from the captain to the deck hands. The food was exceptional. Our guide Mate was excellent in the way he oaced the walks and he was excellent with his communication skills. Things I would consider changing are: 1) for better walkers give them an option of extending the walk, so provide a map/gps route for them. Ask that they sign a disclaimer so Sail Croatia is protected should they have a mishap. 2) provide more buffet lunches. This was my first experience of sailing and trekking and I was really impressed with the quality of our vessel and hopping from island to island was enjoyable. I would certainly recommend to anyone that if they enjoy sea travel and hiking this experience would be very enjoyable

We sailed on Milena on hike and sail cruise. Kate and Mate, our cruise and hike representatives were awesome. They were so helpful, friendly and when weather affected plans, between the captain and them they always had an alternate plan. The rest of the crew were great and it was one of the best things I have done on a holiday.

Food - consistently good - thanks to Rosa and Marco ehi did a great job Hikes & Information - excellent - (Matè and Kristijan are brilliant and worked well together) Boat - could have been better. Bathrooms need upgrading and/or more frequent cleaning.. Also better deck chairs and sun beds/cushions for sun bathing on the boat. The dining area was lovely and well maintained. Visit to 5 Islands - with a variety of Hikes including walking part-way down from Sv.Jure Mountain (1762m) in Makarska. Swimming in the warm Adriatic sea every day. Good mix fellow passengers, from different countries and ages (ranging from 30 to 80yrs). Overall, a most enjoyable social experience and relaxing holiday. The 'Sail Croatia crew' provided good food and service throughout the voyage.

The crew and captain were excellent and spoke English very well. The food was fresh, homemade and delicious. The hikes were fun and rewarding with fantastic views of the Dalmatian coast. We enjoyed both the small villages and bigger towns like Split. Our fellow passengers were friendly and warm (from UK, Canada, Australia - we were only Americans and that was fine.) We highly recommend also visiting Dubrovnik! Wish we would have also gone to Zagreb.

The boat was comfortable, the crew was very friendly and helpful, the food was tasty, the scenery was great and island towns were delightful. Swimming off the back of the boat in sheltered bays with crystal clear water was fantastic - and the water was so buoyant, that you couldn't sink. Thank you to the crew of Magellan.

Revamp the itinerary to exclude Korcula to enable walks to take place in the mornings not in the heat of the day after a hearty 3 course lunch (delicious as it was with such a variety prepared by Renata in her tiny kitchen!) Some of the walks very challenging. Miranda and Tea were excellent hosts, friendly, smiley, informative - a credit to Sail Croatia. They work so hard on a punishing schedule. The captain and "sailors" looked after us well, as did Angie supplying copious glasses of cold beer and chilled wine! Cabins were adequate with the bonus of air conditioning - something we hadn't expected. The towels had seen better days but were replaced on request, but surprised they were not changed during the course of the week.. The boat itself was kept exceptionally clean (Marija Magdalena), spacious, just 19 of us on board. Upper deck with deck chairs and large table and chairs with sun shaded areas. Lower deck where breakfast (again excellent) and lunch taken provided shade.

Fantastic experience from booking (with no single person suppliment), to the staff involved in the boat and guides. Super affordable when taking into the fact you have accommodation for 7 nights and 2 meals a day, let alone the hikes. Sail Croatia provided me with the holiday of a lifetime and breathtakingly mountain and island port views. Thank you all.

The Sail Croatia hiking cruise went beyond my expectations, which were high to begin with. The staff worked hard and were professional, but they were also just nice, friendly people and great ambassadors for Croatia. The hikes, meals, and other activities created an atmosphere of conviviality. We made new friends with our group. The hikes were challenging, but doable. (I'm out of shape, but the guides were helpful and patient as I was often the last one to finish the hike). What can I say about the beauty of Croatia that hasn't been said before? The islands and water are stunningly beautiful. The people of Croatia are friendly and rightfully proud of this amazing country. Of course, we had extra fun being there in June and getting to watch the first few games of the World Cup. (But don't wait for the next World Cup to roll around--if you're looking for the perfect way to experience one of the most beautiful places on Earth, Sail Croatia is the way to go).

Pleasant fellow travellers, enjoyable and sometimes challenging hikes, great weather and wonderful Croatian scenery, tasty breakfasts and lunches, knowledgable and friendly tour and hiking guides made this a memorable week. Ship (The Magellan) was just the right size, not too big and not too small. Dinners ashore generally very good - lots of lovely fresh fish! - in variety of quiet, and sometimes loud (Football World Cup was on!) ports. Would definitely recommend.

We have had a fabulous time on the Milena with the island hopping and hiking trip. First of all the staff were so helpful and engaged. It was such a joy to see the islands from the sea and travel on this type of boat. The food, the atmosphere and the hiking trips were all great experiences. We had a wonderful time on “The Magellan “. Our Sail Croatia rep, Ljubo was excellent and worked very hard to keep a diverse group of hikers happy. The ship was clean and comfortable. The food on board was very good. We went on some fantastic hikes on beautiful islands. Swimming off the boat was definitely a great memory. The group on board ranged from people in their 20’s to people in their 60’s from all around the world. Everyone got on really well which made for a great atmosphere all week. I would highly recommend this holiday to anyone with an interest in hiking.

My wife and i had a great time sailing from island to island and hiking at each stop. The crew on-board were fantastic which made our time on the boat most enjoyable, the food was great, and the guides very knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend to anyone.

We can honestly say that this one holiday that is at the top of our list. The walking itinerary was just right, a mixture of easy and more testing walks. The ship is well maintained and the cabins were clean, comfortable and had everything you required, air -conditioning, hairdryer, multiple electric sockets and a safe. The meals were delicious and very welcomed after a day’s hiking. There’s also a well-stocked bar and a water cooler out on the deck. The staff were lovely, always smiling and having a laugh. We’d definitely, do this hiking / cruise holiday again in the future.

We were delighted by the quality of the boat (Magellan), the cabin was fine and the ensuite shower room was larger than we expected. The quality of the food on board also exceeded our expectations. It was the genuine friendliness of the crew, the Sail Croatia rep, and the hiking guide that really made for a great holiday.

Weather was glorious and our engaging hosts looked after us all, right from the first day.. We were pleasantry surprised at the quality of our boat Magellan which was beautiful, fully equipped and obviously well looked after by a competent and friendly boat crew. Our hiking guide and our sail-Croatia host really made us feel welcome and made great efforts to give us a history of the land and culture. They were always willing to help out and to explain or provide anything we needed. We also made a lot of new friends over the week - unsurprising when you are close together with like-minded people.. My over-riding memories will be of the wonderful little fishing villages and island towns along the way, the blue sea and the wonderful weather. We were never bored with such a varied itinerary and plenty of opportunity for sights and swims.. My first taste of Croatia cruising and it will not be my last!

Guides in particular always went the extra mile. Walking was interesting and well balanced, food was way beyond expectations not realizing three course lunches were part of the deal. Highly recommended.

The breakfasts and lunches were very good. The passengers all mixed well. Some of the walks were different from those in the itinerary. Disappointed that we did not stop in Korcula Town as advertised. Most nights were quite noisy so don't expect to get much sleep.

Hiking was great, we liked our guides very much. Some problems were with noise in ports specially when our boat was parked my party boats for overnight stay. We could not sleep till 3am. Life hack for next sailors, bring ear plugs with you))). Do not take wine on board it is spoiled by the high temperature on board. Food on board was good. Next tour will be for us bikes)

Great people in the group. Hikes were challenging. Accommodations on the ship were not plush, but adequate. Crew and guides were helpful and friendly. Biggest problem was at night with the noise from party goers on other ships docked next to ours.

Active Croatia, hiking tour, first week October: Positives: The group were all great fun. Ages ranged from mid 20s to mid 60s along with the consequential mixed abilities. The slow were determined to get up the hills and the fast were patient and supportive. The evenings and dinners were comradely and a dose of \"Cards against humanity\" tore up all inhibitions. The hikes were good and varied. What could have been better: The boat, not having hot-water available for showers after a sweaty walk on some days was poor. Our guide was not a walking guide and did very well given she didn\'t know the routes and we got lost a few times. She and her colleague were personally great and did really well but we paid for a guide not a guide\'s learning experience. Advice: Croatia\'s weather is changeable at this time of year, I hadn\'t realised just how cold the cold days were (8 oC). If you\'re going this late have some warm clothing with you. Overall a lovely trip, would highly recommend
