Sail Croatia

We hired the boat Morpheus for our family of 5 ( three adult children) Andreas our skipper was fantastic and an enthusiastic sailer. he planned a great week for us. With a mix of remote swimming spots and idyllic towns. The boat was perfect and the kitchen well equipped with everything thing to to cook lunch each day on board. One of the great things about the trip was you are in a different place each day but you dont have to pack your bags each day like when you stay in a hotel. We would all love to do this trip again.

Beautiful Islands of Croatia

What an amazing experience sailing around the beautiful islands of Croatia. Our trip started in Slpit & end ended in Dubrovnik. We stopped at 5 amazing islands along the way. The boat guide Andro was incredibly knowledgeable about each island’s history & what it had to offer and gave suggestions on activities and restaurants along the way. The crew were great however my only suggestion would be it lacked a female’s touch (all male crew) 😅. Eg room cleaning & also lack of salad at lunch time with massive serving of 3 course meal at lunch (the men very happy). I would highly recommend Sail Croatia it definitely exceeded our expectations.

What a great way to unwind, recharge and regroup!!

Oh Croatia - what a BEAUTIFUL country you are!! We sailed on the Almissa from Dubrovnik to Split abd then took a bus back down to Dubrovnik for our return flight home. You really couldn’t have asked for more! Food was amazing, service was outstanding and the scenery was fairytale like!!!

Relaxing with the right amount of activity

Croatia is beautiful, I loved all the islands, Stari Grad and Mljet National Park were highlights. Tempera is due for a refurb next year, it's fine, but it does need some attention. The crew were great. As a pescatarian I was catered for, but hot breakfast items were all in the same serving dish - eggs tasted of sausages - I can cope with that, but many wouldn't. Overall, thoroughly enjoyable.

Cycling sail croatia

We have just completed cycling sail croatia week. A few recommendations for sail croatia to consider for upcoming trips, and for travellers who are considering this trip. If you are travelling as a couple you need to specify you want a double room. The food on the boat was very tasty however the orange juice in the morning could be greatly improved. They could also increase their variety of wines on board. Miranda our cycling leader was excellent and very supportive. Time spent in some of the villaages I felt was rushed, definitely wished we had a longer duration in Havar. If you enjoy an active holiday this is definitely one to consider as a way to see Croatia.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the cycling, found the food tasty, and that Miranda made such a positive impact on your trip. Regarding the bedding configuration, whilst we're unable to guarantee specific bed types on our Cycle Croatia cruises due to the varying layouts of our vessels, we absolutely welcome guests to let us know if they have a preferred bedding configuration. We do our best to accommodate these requests wherever possible; however, as ship allocations are finalised closer to departure and each vessel has its own unique cabin configuration, we are unable to guarantee them. This information is outlined on our website and within our booking information prior to travel. For guests seeking guaranteed bedding configurations, our Luxury Cycle cruises offer this option. We also appreciate your suggestions regarding the orange juice, wine selection, and the amount of time spent in some of the destinations. Thank you again for your valuable feedback, and we hope to welcome you back to Croatia in the future.

Glorious swimming and sailing

I thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Was impressed with the Olimp: impeccably maintained, everything gleaming, spick-and-span, and the whole crew were friendly & helpful, and Vedran is a star organiser! Our lunches were all delicious. .The breakfast buffet was sufficient except for the "orange juice" which neither looked nor tasted as if it had been near a real orange. Breakfast was too short, and too early. Should last until at least 10am, Also I'd have liked the option to eat on the outside deck. When at sea who wants to be in an enclosed space.? The highlight of the trip was swimming. But I wanted more & longer swim stops. Most were only 1 hour - not enough to enjoy repeatedly jumping into that gorgeous turquoise sea! I'd have also appreciated more time actually sailing, not moored in a port. The expeditions were at the hottest time of day, so I mostly opted out and relaxed on the ship's cushions in the breeze - that upper deck lounging area was a perfect touch of luxury!

Girls' Trip

The Sail Croatia trip was great. Beautiful swim stops, interesting fellow travelers, and no shortage of food or drinks. Good value for money, and leaves you wanting more time in Croatia. A few things I would change: The amount of time spent in port towns. We were really only in a port during the late afternoons and at night, and it would have been really nice to have more daytime to explore the islands and towns. There's a lot of food waste on the boat. Every lunch had three courses, and they were huge and quite heavy. One or two courses, or the ability to opt in or out of certain courses, would reduce food waste. Also, the house wine on the boat was from two huge plastic jugs on the floor behind the bar. It was super sweet and undrinkable. It would have been nice to have the option for a glass of decent house wine, instead of having to purchase whole bottles.

Amazing week!

We had the most amazing time on sail Croatia! Our trip manager was lovely! My only comments would be that on the trip itself there was a lot of hidden costs (bus rides paid in cash, taxes, tips, etc) so we spend significantly more than planned.

Great biking, disappointing cabin

Enjoyed the biking and guides. Crew was great.Views were spectacular. The cabin left a lot to be desired. Terrible mattress, bathroom was a mess, couldn’t shower without wetting the whole room, AC was subpar.. The food was mostly good, with several poor mains and sides. fruit cocktail from a can should not be served for dessert. drink prices on board were extremely high, five euros for a small Coke..

Sail Croatia Penelopa

Bloody brilliant!!!!!! Nikola was the most amazing rep we could have asked for! So kind, caring and knowledgeable. Very thorough and organised, always going above and beyond to make us feel safe and looked after. He gave us lots of recommendations and suggestions which made our trip even better! An amazing tour guide, friend and host! Shoutout to Darren & Nathan for the amazing meals and banter! My friends and I will miss the sail Croatia team dearly.

Cruise comments

Our holiday was great, and our rep Vicko was very good . The boat was comfortable and clean, the food was excellent . My only complaint is that on Sunday we were thrown off one and a half hours. Before our airportbtransport arrived In a heat;of 33 and told to go to a cafe down the road which was closed and the seats wired up which with luggage is unacceptable. Caroline Cornell

Dubrovnik - Split

The trip was fantastic- we had 2 really great guides Ivan and Lujcia- the group on the boat got on well. Such beautiful coastline - cycling on the islands was a fabulous way to see them. Would recommend this trip

Beyond all expectations

A to be repeated expectation of extraordinary landscape exercise and relaxation led by a wonderful group of integrated staff, guides Tonka and Callum and a much respected leader.... The Mali Luka Captain Ivan and his trainee. Thank you everyone. Georgie

Sel De Mar

Lovely boat and crew. Chef amazing. However did not enjoy being constantly exposed to cigarette smoke on only lower deck, especially when deck was enclosed.

- Dawn, 19/06/2026 00:49, Travelled with Family

Almost perfection

This was a fabulous holiday! There are just three reasons I couldn't give it a perfect 5. 1. "Water toys"-having only 4 "floaties" when you have 36 people on board is not enough. On vacation, no one wants to jump is the sea and tread water for the duration of the swim stop. 2. The new Contessa is lovely. However, on the top deck there was not nearly enough loungers or chairs. People were having to share or go below deck. There was plenty of space for more. 3. It is a bummer that you advertise excursions to Explorer travelers but they actually do not happen or are not reccomended. We were excited on day 1 to go river rafting but once on board heard that that actually wasn't an excursion. Same with canoeing-said you "could" go, but that it was a very bad experience. Better tour operators or excursions need to be sourced. Lola was super and responsive. Martin and Neno amazing employees! Chef Bane and Marko fab. Charlie and Tino fun on deck, and maids were wonderful.

Hiking cruise.

Overall it was wonderful. The full group of passengers were amazing and Croatia is stunning. Our hikes were beautiful. Our cabin was quite small and very damp. Our clothes and towels never felt dry. We were thankful that it was cool and quieter during the night when parked next to party boats, though it was a bit noisy when the engines started in the morning. We thought the food was quite good. In sum, great experience and would choose a bit nicer ship next time.

Relax and Cruise

Excellent experience on the Romantic Star. The ship was modern, clean, and well appointed with all extras. Our tour ambassador Dino was helpful with any and all requests from guests. We would tour again on Sail Croatia.

A little extra effort needed

We loved seeing the Dalmation Islands, the beautiful walks and we enjoyed the public areas of the boat, Emanuel. However in the small cabin the bed was hard and lumpy. The addition of decent mattress toppers would be an easy fix and a big improvement. While I appreciate limited galley space, the food could be easily improved with forethought. For example for vegetarians a homemade lentil and spinach soup would be a simple and massive improvement on powdered mushroom soup. The salads were very basic; lettuce in a bowl and likewise could be upgraded with a few extras and with the addition of, for example, cooked potatoes chick peas with decent bread would have been a nicer main course than fried vege fritters from a packet. One day we had lunch of potato crocquettes with potato and vege fritters and chips, all from a packet, all fried! Breakfasts were good with nice vege choice. Bar a bit pricey. Tea and coffee all day should be included for the price of the holiday.

Fun cruise

The seven night cruise in Croatia was an enjoyable experience. We saw different islands, daily swims and enjoyed the staff. The food was good and was typical Croatian food, lots of meat. If you are vegetarian they will accommodate you. If you like to float on a float during the swim stops bring your own floatation as there are limited choices.. Couple things I would change are the mattresses on the beds. They were very lumpy and hard on my body. I think more towels should be given to the passengers as they only do one exchange for the entire week.

Friendly Crew, But the Ship Needs Improvement

The Croatian itinerary was fantastic, and the crew were friendly and hardworking throughout the trip. Unfortunately, the condition of the Mali Ante did not meet our expectations. The ship felt older and less well-maintained than many others we saw in port. The jacuzzi was out of service for most of the trip, our shower leaked, & our lower-deck cabin was extremely noisy whenever the engines started. The cabin was also very damp, leaving clothing and towels moist and causing some clothes to develop a musty odor. We also found what appeared to be mold or mildew staining on our bedding. Breakfast was limited to one hour each morning, no snacks were provided between meals, and guests could not bring their own snacks or drinks onboard. Drinks were expensive, and the bar tab had to be paid in cash. Considering the ship’s condition and limited amenities, the suggested gratuities felt excessive. While Croatia was beautiful, the overall experience did not provide the value we expected.

Hi Tiffany, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed review. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the itinerary and found the crew aboard your ship to be friendly and hardworking. We'll be sure to pass your kind words on to them. Mali Ante is a highly rated ship within our fleet, so we are sorry to hear that certain aspects of your onboard experience did not meet your expectations on this occasion. We offer a variety of vessels within our Explorer Cruise range to cater to different travel styles and budgets, allowing guests to select the ship that best suits their preferences. We have a thorough process in place for communicating and resolving issues during the cruise. Having reviewed our internal records, I can see that the concerns outlined in your review were not raised with the onboard representative during your trip. Had we been made aware of these issues at the time, our team would have done their best to investigate and address them while you were onboard to ensure you were satisfied with the outcome. As outlined in our pre-departure documentation and guest App, tipping is entirely optional. The crew onboard our ships are paid fairly for their work; however, gratuities are a widely recognised way for guests to acknowledge exceptional service. We appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention and thank you again for sharing your experience with us.

Amazing 5 Star Croatian Guides - Marin & Johnny!

Wonderful, beautiful scenery ! Marin & Johnny were the perfect pair and excellent guides delivering 5/5 stars! Marin's historical knowledge was impressive; he was a mine of information and great local recommendations, he really took care of everyone! Johnny gave us the best restaurant recommendations or tips of where to go. Some of the bike rides took us up very steep hills and windy roads close to the cliff edges and while the views were beautiful I'm scared of heights, but luckily Johnny was there to support and kindly encourage me down, he was lovely! Kerim our bartender was very attentive & our food was good! Our ship was immaculate but it was older so while we had an upper cabin our bed was positioned up against the wall so I had crawl over the bed to get to my side. It wasn't the end of the world but we felt like we were camping :) which is why I am giving this review 4 stars! I'd highly recommend this trip, all the islands we visited were amazing and we loved Croatia!

Bad boat, good trip itinerary

I wouldn’t ever sail on the standard of boat used on this trip because the cabins were pretty much all of a low standard in one way or another. Additionally noise at night was a significant issue, due to tie ups in harbour. Sleep quality on the boat was poor and the cabin air conditioning caused throat problems. The tipping expectations for staff on this boat of about 20% of the cost of the trip were ridiculous. No one tipped that much, Other people on the boat great fun. Ilona was a very good hike leader. Food on board ok to good, but why no menu for the week or choices? Would go to Croatia again but on a land based tour. The hikes were worth doing. None of our friends would tolerate the standard of boat so wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Hi there, Thank you for your 3-Star review and for taking the time to leave your feedback. It is great to hear that you enjoyed the company of your fellow travellers and that Ilona was a very good hike leader. We will be sure to pass on your comments to Ilona. We are also pleased to hear that the food onboard was good. As per our website our guests enjoy a 3 course lunch daily which received a high score of 4.67 out of 5 from your particular departure. We could't agree more that the hikes are worth doing. Our Hike cruises certainly do allow you to completely immerse yourself in the beautiful nature of this country and year after year these type of holidays are becoming more and more popular. We are however sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy certain aspects of the ship and thank you for your feedback received during the week and after the cruise. We understand you tried to book our Luxury Hike cruise which unfortunately was sold out - and this somewhat left you disappointed with your Premier ship experience. We would like to highlight that the feedback collected from our guests at the end of the cruise resulted in an outstanding overall score for the ship of 4.79 out of 5. Thank you for sharing your comments regarding the noise in port. It is correct that all the ships - as with any tour operator in Croatia - are moored up in the harbours at night. As is the case with any type of cruise and group travel, one must expect a certain degree of noise - whether from onboard social activity, natural sounds and mechanics of being on a ship as well as the surrounding people from other ships. As outlined in our pre-departure documentation and guest App, tipping is entirely optional. The crew onboard our ships are paid fairly for their work; however, gratuities are a widely recognised way for guests to acknowledge exceptional service. Many guests choose to leave a tip as a gesture of appreciation, however this is always at each individual's discretion. Thank you once again for travelling with us.

Croatia Bike Cruise

Our cruise with Sail Croatia was lovely. The biking was a bit more challenging & athletic than anticipated, so we were happy to have e-bikes. But our tour guides Marin & Natasha were knowledgeable & skilled so we always felt safe. Daily rides lasted 3-6 hours, the latter with added excursions. Some on quiet remote roads, but a few on rather busy thruways. I'd suggest offering a more leisurely bike option with site-seeing stops (we did coffee & beach stops but they were very brief) The boat itself was basic but comfortable (premier class). Our room was adequate & clean, with a large bathroom, plenty of hot water & AC. However there were some lacking amenities such as a comfortable lounge area away from the wind when at sail, with seating enough for everyone on board. We were also expecting sun loungers on the top deck, but there were just a few plastic chairs. Lastly the buffet breakfasts were wonderful, but not the plated lunches. I'd suggest offering buffet instead.

June 26 bike croatia

Fantastic, loved the island rides especially in quiet places. Amazing coastline and beautiful views. Great guides and staff. Things that need improvement . 1 needed softer mattress 2. A system to log guests on and off securely so no-one can get left behind. 3. Give all info before getting off to start riding to save confusion. 4. Do not rely on apps as not all can use mb phones when traveling & riding. 5. Self serve Tea and coffee should be available free to guests.6. Meals do not need to be so formal or take up so much time. 7. Bikes need bells for safety and small panier bags to carry items securely.

Fabulous

Loved biking in Croatia and seeing many islands. The guides were great. The boat did not have any comfortable out door lounge chairs, many were broken, no cushions. The bedroom pillows were terrible and the bed was very hard.

Sandra from Canada

We really enjoyed our week on Aphradita. Sasha and Natasha were great hosts and guides. The hiking was perfect - the week was a perfect balance of activity and down time. Would recommend.

- Sandra, 05/06/2026 20:39, Travelled in a Couple

It was a nice week

We enjoyed the bike rides, the sceneries were beautiful. The e-bikes worked very well. The group was a bit too large, a bit squeezed on the boat. The meals were excellent but we would have liked at time more buffet or picnic type of meal. We enjoyed a lot swimming from the boat, the Adriatic sea is so beautiful . Our guides, Marin and Martin, were excellent. They cared a lot for the security and were extremely knowledgeable, very pleasant peuple, I recommend them to all the groups.

Hiking, sailing

Fun holiday. Maybe 1/2 days too long. Alcohol on board very expensive. Breakfasts were very much the same each day. Felt leaders could have done more - like dinners out on town - to build comraderey. Hikes seemed like last minute thoughts. Leader took few breaks, not a lot of stopping to explain interesting facts. But maybe there weren’t many. 😬 all in all fun , beautiful Boat and great crew

Exceptional Guides

Our guides were amazing. Crew brilliant. Costs such as port taxes and park fees were a bit of a surprise. Cabin was on the lower deck and was really damp even with the door left ajar. We were not allowed to open the portholes overnight whilst docked. Double bed was way too high to get in and out of comfortably.

- Anonymous, 03/06/2026 19:14, Travelled in a Couple

Awesome adventures with the guides

It was great overall. Some of the things outside of the biking was that things like port taxes and park fees were not included in the costs. The cabins were also quite damp below deck and our bed you nearly had to take a run and jump to get into it as it was really high. Not great for an older couple.

Ms

I enjoyed the cruise itinerary and the ship was very nice. Unfortunately other cruise attendees were obnoxious and inconsiderate. the ship staff seemed to favor the needs of these individuals, making the overall experience unpleasant at times. I chose an Elegance cruise expecting a different environment. Even other cruise ships were complaining about our “party ship”

- Anonymous, 02/06/2026 17:55, Travelled with Friend/s

wonderful no frills getaway

Try to get pics of room prior to booking-I think we had the worst room on the boat. Room 2 on Tempera has a large intrusion in the room from the next door curved staircase requiring you to hunch over on far side of bed when getting in or out. That closet opens up ONTO the bed and is almost unuseable. The tiny curved table in the room slants down so things slide off of it. The bed was comfortable and the room size decent. The breakfast was good- sausage, eggs, fruit, pastries…. but I (and many other judging by appearances) found the lunches inedible. greasy rice stuffed pepper served with cold mashed potatoes, a bowl of buttered noidles served with a small thin slice of overcooked meat served with more noodles, Very carb heavy and mostly served warm not hot. Soups and desserts were good.

- Trish, 02/06/2026 05:10, Travelled in a Couple

premier biking Croatia

We had a lovely time on our Sail Croatia Bike Cruise. I will recommend but with these suggestions. The food on our ship was not great. Edible but poorer quality than I expected. The crew tended to be quite surly and mostly smoked or were on their phones. Our guides were phenomenal and did a fantastic job. They really made the trip. The bikes (we all had e-bikes) were very good quality and easy to use. The scenery was fantastic and luckily we had a large (33 passengers) group but everyone was great and got along well. I would strongly suggest upgrading to premier plus or looking at a higher quality company if good food and a nice ship are important to you.

Fantastic time

Had a fantastic time on Sail Croatia biking cruise. The guides and boat crew were wonderful. We were lucky and had gorgeous weather all but one day. Seeing the different islands by bike was truly special and was awesome to see so much of each island.

My Sail Experience

Overall my holiday was incredible. The itinerary of the trip was well thought out and the places we visited absolutely beautiful. Our guide Josip was so friendly, inviting and informative. He went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience on board as well as in every town we visited. I really appreciated how he involved himself in the group and was a central part to everyone getting to know each other so well. The crew of our ship TVRDI were also a highlight, they were friendly, helpful and hard working and we all left feeling so grateful to have got to know them. My only negative experience on sail was the pricing of drinks, activities and recommended restaurants. As young people this experience is already expensive and while I believe the sail itself is well worth it there could be adjustments made to make it more affordable. I would’ve loved to have free or decently priced walking tours included in each place to learn more about the history, culture, and stories.

Great way to island hop

Our holiday was very relaxing. Dino was 5 stars and so were the rest of the crew. Great way to see the islands. The only reason we rated 4stars instead of 5 is because we would have preferred not to be served a full 3 course meal at lunch. A buffet would have been better. Save the big meal for when we were in the towns. As it was we ate two dinner type meals a day until we decided to just not eat lunch on the ship.

Further feedback

I filled the quick review onboard but understood there would be a more thorough evaluation of our trip. The biggest concern I had was the food. It was not up to standard. You should hire qualified trained chefs. Thousand island salad dressing was over poured on all salads. White bread for the most part. Not alot of citrus fruit. Overcooked tuna at captains dinner and appetizer unappealing. The captain wore a sweatshirt at the captains dinner. You couldn’t order a glass of wine you needed to buy a bottle. .

some suggestions to be even better

The trip from Dubrovnik to Split was awesome. I have been in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years and I would like to offer some suggestions: -towels need to be dried some way, we had to use them wet. -shower floor is very slippery, you might want to do something. -regular coffee and bread can be better at breakfast. Sweet bread was fine. -Lunch can be better as well. Dessert when made by the lady cook was awesome. she is really good. All the crew offered a fantastic and warm service at all times.. congratulations for that. Ally and Linda worked non stop and the boys as well. Captain was a lot of fun and so friendly and easy going. He did a very good job. Having the boat from Blue Cave take us directly to the ship was a great idea. thank you. Jacuzzi was a little small for a big crowd and we had to take turns. -Dinning room was very noisy during meals. Too many people in a small area. I wish we could extend and eat outside. Thank you and congratulations

Very good

Overall a wonderful experience. The hides were superb, rides were great and scenery unbelievable. A couple of drawbacks - there is a schedule to rides so not as many opportunities to stop and see things or swim etc along the way as I hoped. And did get a little sea sick at times. Also would have preferred a buffet so you could serve yourself the amount of food you could eat. 3 course lunches were sometimes a lot.

Great trip

I had a great time. Guides were outstanding (Josko and Lauren). I felt safe in their hands. Itinerary: I would have preferred more kilometers The bikes were basic and minimal. I expected better quality, especially the non E-bikes. The boat was fine. I did not need anything fancier. More than adequate The food was good but often overcooked. (The captain was a great pilot, he has no business interfering in the kitchen) Portions too big; buffet style may be better. I appreciated breakfast as I could serve myself and the variety was perfect. The portions at lunch were way too big. I dont like wasting food. The staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. Consider other drinks at the bar (juice, lemonade…)

- Anonymous, 20/05/2026 16:55, Travelled in a Couple

Mediocre

Okay. The food was average despite cooks efforts to prepare and serve quality food. There was no alcohol provided with Captains dinner. Staff were great!

Coastal Croatia Adventure

Croatia's coastline is simply beautiful and the cities of Dubrovnik and Split were well worth the visit. The smaller islands were interesting and pretty if missing cultural interest, but thanks to our wine-themed cruise, there was always something to see/do. The crew and especially our guide Lola were cheerful, helpful and fun (my husband and I were traveling with a solo friend, so with 3 at our table, we were able to share a lot of meals with Lola). We've done a number of cruises in the past, from 120 passengers up to about 2000, and unfortunately I'm prone to seasickness, so on that front the trip was not great - I definitely appreciated our captain's decision to skip one island due to rough seas! The smaller size ship also meant that our cabin was much smaller than what we've experienced before and there was really nowhere other than the dining area for people to gather together when it was raining which was unfortunate. Overall, it was a lovely experience!

Could have been better

I'm sorry I cannot give a 5 star review. The great things about the ship was the chef, the crew and the facilities. All great - clean, organized, well run. My disappointment was in the lack of excursions on the islands between Dubrovnik and Split. I thought that we should have some kind of introduction to each island and short walking tour each time we docked. Everyday was a swim day and because the water was too cold to swim I had hoped that an adjustment would be made to the schedule for an alternate activity. Perhaps dock earlier to give us some time off the boat. There was too much sitting around time. From breakfast, through lunch there was nothing to do if you did not swim (& no one did). We did not disembark til 2 pm. Our tour dir. did her job perfunctorily and made arrangements as requested, She was not as visible or involved with our group. Although she said she has been doing this for 4 years she came off as unsure and inexperienced.

Interesting ports of call, good food and wine, good value for money, a beautiful country.
