Crew List
For each tour, we are required by law to ensure we have each crew member registered onboard the yacht. Please ensure you fill in the Crew List Form so we have all details required from each member of the crew.
Meeting Point
From the Airport, a regular airport shuttle bus meets each flight and can take you to the harbour. The journey time is 45 minutes – 1 hour, and the fare is approximately €10. Taxis are available from outside the airport, and a typical fare is the equivalent of about €50 - €60. There are ATMs at the airport if you need local currency.
Check-in is from ACI Marina in Split harbour. The marina is located at the west end of the Main harbour in Split (when standing on the main Riva in front of Diocletian’s Palace, you will see the yacht masts to the right of the entrance to the harbour). This is a 25-minute walk from where the airport shuttle terminates and the main ferry harbour where the central bus and train terminals are.
Please head to the platform (shown on the map), where you'll be able to spot the blue Sail Croatia gazebo. Join us from 1.30pm for a Welcome Drink and a chance to get to know your fellow yacht mates! Check-in is at 2pm, and we will depart the marina at 3pm sharp.
A check-in representative will meet you there and help you with the check in procedure. You can contact them on 00385 95 611 2015 if you are late or lost. Please only use this mobile number for emergencies.
You can find the meeting location below. The address is: ACI Marina Split Uvala Baluni 8 HR-21000 Split

What to Bring
Due to limited storage space onboard, we kindly request that you avoid bringing excessive luggage. Excessive luggage refers to large suitcases, multiple bags, or oversized items that may hinder the available space and cause inconvenience for everyone on board.
Soft luggage (duffle bags or similar) is recommended as these bags are easiest to store and don’t damage our yachts. You will be able to store small, soft bags in your cabin; however, in case of excess luggage, you are able to use the Luggage storage facilities at ACI Marina. Storage costs are €6 per item per day or €35 per item per week. To arrange storage for your luggage, please speak with a member of our check-in team.
It's advisable to take as little as possible - a swimsuit, a pair of shorts, a few T-shirts and a good mood will suffice. We also recommend that you take some clothes for cooler evenings (for example a tracksuit, fleece, and windbreaker). Don’t forget to pack something for the Blue & White Yacht Party in Makarska! Think linen shirts/dresses, boat shoes and blue and/or white clothing!
The cabins are fitted with double beds and are equipped with individual clean bed linen and blankets. You will be provided with a bath towel, although you will need to bring your own towels for swimming.
There are power points (European 2-pin plug) onboard, which are subject to main battery power, which is limited. All appliances require a double round pin type plug for 220 volts, AC, 50 hertz.
There are also speakers on board, and you can plug your phone in to play music if you wish. Please bring the relevant AUX cables.
Food & Drink
Breakfast is supplied, however you will be responsible for paying for your own lunch, dinner, snacks and drinks throughout the week. We recommend purchasing enough food and drinks to get you through the first couple of days, as space onboard is limited. You can purchase provisions, including food, drinks, alcohol and bottled water before check-in from a local supermarket and re-stock at supermarkets in each destination if required. Breakfast and lunch will be held on the yacht each day, and dinners will be in port.
Please ensure you purchase enough bottled water as you cannot drink the water on the yacht.
Money & Insurance
As of January 2023, the official currency of Croatia is the Euro. You can get a cash advance on your credit card at banks throughout the country, though Visa credit cards are not accepted by all banks.
Most towns and islands in Croatia have ATMs that are linked to international networks. Credit cards (Visa/MasterCard is most recognised) are accepted in most tourist areas, but if you are travelling off the beaten path, be prepared to use cash.
A local tax of 40 Euro is not included in the price and is to be paid locally.
We recommend that all passengers travelling on Sail Croatia trips have personal insurance to cover medical and repatriation costs.
Tipping in Croatia
Tipping your Skipper is not compulsory; however, it is a customary practice in Croatia. If you are pleased with the service provided, we highly recommend showing your appreciation through a tip. This gesture not only acknowledges the hard work and dedication of the crew but also enhances their livelihood. Your Skipper will often go above and beyond to ensure a memorable and enjoyable experience, so a gratuity is a meaningful way to thank them for their exceptional service. By tipping, you contribute to the local economy and foster a culture of excellent service within the maritime industry.
Passenger Yacht Rules
We share our responsibility to protect Croatia's environment and culture with our guests and require that our travellers respect the Skipper and have consideration for their yacht. Yacht rules are to protect our customers onboard, and we would like all clients to have consideration for other people. If, in our opinion, any passenger behaves in a way to cause, or likely to cause, danger or distress to any third party, we reserve the right to terminate the travel of the person(s) concerned without any refund.
Passengers onboard are obliged to abide by the yacht rules, as the Skipper is responsible for the safety of all passengers and the crew. The Skipper has the right to change the itinerary in case of bad weather or similar inappropriate conditions in ports to ensure safety onboard.
- A 40 Euro Local Tax is payable at the start of your Yacht Tour. This payment covers fuel and mooring fees throughout the week.
- Drugs Policy: We have a zero-tolerance policy toward drugs. Anyone in possession of drugs will be asked to leave the ship immediately and will be reported to the police.
- Noise - please respect the Port Authority noise restrictions in each port
- It is forbidden to throw rubbish into the sea
- Blockages- do not throw anything in the toilet, including toilet paper.
- Portholes- ensure they are closed while sailing to avoid water entering your cabin
- Smoking in the salon and cabins is not allowed. Cigarette butts must not be thrown in the sea
- Bed linen must not be taken out of the cabins
- Water is a problem on every boat; therefore, please ration it very carefully.
Your Skipper will be available for any questions or queries and will do their best to make your stay onboard a most pleasurable one!
Resolving Problems Onboard
We only wish to have happy customers onboard our yachts. Most problems can be resolved quickly, and there is no reason to endure ongoing issues on your tour. However, unless we know about a problem, we cannot begin to resolve it. We encourage you to communicate problems immediately. We have found most issues are often simple language or cultural issues so we have put together this simple step-by-step guide to help you through this process and make resolutions a breeze:
Step 1: Please communicate problems to your Skipper immediately so they are able to address them. Our Skippers are responsible for resolving these problems and will assist wherever they can.
Step 2: If you feel your problem has not been resolved, please text or call our Yacht Operations Team on +385 95 611 2015.
By following the process above, we will have a clear record of events from all parties involved, and we will have been given every opportunity to resolve problems for you.
If you still wish to make a formal complaint, this can be emailed to [email protected] with information on the issue and the steps you took to resolve it onboard.
In any critical situations, please contact our Crew Manager on 00385 95 611 2015 or Grant Seuren, Managing Director, Sail Croatia on +44(0)7 8151 44 618.
Safety Guide
Public health service standards are similar to those in the rest of Europe. There are hospitals in large towns and clinics on the islands and in smaller towns. Most doctors speak English.
The sun can be quite intense in the Adriatic in Summer, so we recommend using a high factor sunscreen, wearing a hat and drinking plenty of water. Whilst tap water is usually safe to drink in Croatia, we recommend drinking only bottled water on the yacht.
If something is stolen, you must report it to the police and obtain a crime report for your insurance company.
We have the following guidelines in place for your safety:
- Do not leave valuables on the beach or yacht decks
- Beware of pickpockets in crowded markets
- Avoid discussing the war in sensitive areas
- Show respect for other people’s property, feelings and cultural differences
- Be aware of slippery decks and be careful when climbing ladders
- It is strictly forbidden to jump from the yacht whilst sailing
- Swimming in the ports is not allowed
- Jumping from the yacht while at a swim stop is not recommended and is done so at your own risk
- Climbing the masts is forbidden
- Mind the gap between the yachts and don’t step on the fenders
- Crossing from yacht to yacht at non-designated places is strictly forbidden
- In the case of rough sea please avoid any movement around the yacht
- During swim stops, stay close to the yacht and be mindful of currents. If you are a poor swimmer, please advise the Skipper
- Beware of sea urchins
- Tap water onboard is not suitable for drinking
- Make sure you are familiar with the location of your life jacket. We recommend locating and examining your life jacket before departure
- In the case of bad weather, the Skipper may change the original itinerary in the interest of your safety
- Always check when the yacht will be departing the next day. It is your responsibility to be back onboard before departure. We recommend being back at your yacht by
- 5am daily as your yacht may have to leave early due to unforeseen circumstances
- In case of anti-social behaviour, you will be issued with an official warning. Should similar behaviour be repeated, you will be asked to leave the yacht. In events related to aggression, drugs and breaching our Health and Safety rules, you will be asked to leave the yacht immediately without warning
