At Sail Croatia, we pride ourselves on not only providing you with a fantastic time island hopping the Adriatic – but we love to keep you entertained on dry land at our destinations. We offer a wide variety of additional excursions which will extend your experience of Croatia and offer a different and exciting perspective of the ports you’ll be visiting.
The following Sail Croatia excursions can be arranged when you first arrive on your ship, and depending on availability, can even be arranged during your cruise. All excursions are payable in cash locally with the service provider – so make sure you have enough Euros before you depart!
Educational Activity Discover the hidden secrets of filming on location, and the history behind the set of Game of Thrones. Explore the different locations around “Kings Landing”, where the famous series is filmed. This tour is suitable for real Game of Thrones fans (does not include entrance to Lovrijenac Fortress).
Adventure Activity Hire a bike and explore the big & small lakes of Mljet National Park! This is the best way to see it all, as you pay for 2 hours and use your bike for 4!
Historical Activity Learn all about the turbulent history of this amazing Adriatic town. Discover it’s beauty and uncover the treasures of the Old Town streets and monuments in the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’. You’ll listen to stories that take you back in time as you learn about local legends and the way of life as it once was.
Historical Activity Talk a walk through the largest and best surviving example of Roman palatial architecture and discover how modern life looked in the ancient imperial residence!

Food & Wine Activity Immerse yourself in the traditional way of life as you experience authentic Croatia
Food & Wine Activity Today we will visit the only wine cellar in the world that is located in a military tunnel! For 150 years the Lipanović family has been growing wine in the region and the cellar location provides the ideal conditions for keeping and storing wine. We will try three traditional wines, Vugava, Viski Opol (rose) and Plavac Mali (red) along with a tasting plate whilst learning about the history of Vis and the use of the military tunnels during World War II.
Food & Wine Activity Today we have our exciting Wine Jeep Safari! Travelling in 4X4 vehicles we will experience the landscape of Milna from a different perspective and hear how food and wine production is rooted in ancient tradition. We will relax in a family tavern where our hosts will treat us to local wines and traditional food produce, including locally made cheese and meats.
Food & Wine Activity Stroll the cobbled streets of Korcula, soaking in the history and architecture, before stumbling upon a quaint alley leading to our wine bar destination for this afternoon to sample the local wines of Korcula with tapas.
Food & Wine Activity Today, we will visit a wine cellar in the caves of Dubrovnik's old town to try three of our favourite regional wines along with a tasting plate, an appetiser of what is to come on the trip!
