MS Almissa

Almissa joined the Sail Croatia Explorer fleet in 2017 as a newly built ship of remarkable quality. Due to its excellence both in performance and service onboard, the ship is the perfect host for your journey through the Adriatic.

Almissa's appearance is striking from the very first sight. With its 40.4 metres of length and 8.2 metres of width, it is ideal for comfortable, spacious cruising, and yet intimate enough for a personal experience. Moreover, the ship offers 19 twin and double cabins; 11 above deck and 8 below deck, equipped with all the latest amenities and air-conditioning facilities.

A place where guests enjoy spending their time onboard is the cosy saloon area with a fully equipped bar. This is also where the guests are able to enjoy a freshly made breakfast every morning, as well as traditional Croatian food for lunch. Meals are served by their devoted and accommodating crew, from a professional and fully-stocked kitchen. In addition, the upper deck or the sundeck is perfect for sunbathing, relaxing, enjoying your favourite drink and admiring the most beautiful Croatian views.

Sailing onboard the Almissa will be a true bonding experience, which is no surprise considering that it is a passionate family business. Like many families within the maritime region of Dalmatia who share the passion for shipbuilding and sailing, so do two very close brothers - Marko and Pave. Having previous experience with two successful ships, they have now put all of their passion and knowledge into designing and building the beautiful Almissa.

Both boat building brothers invest time and expertise into the continuous maintenance of this cruise ship wonder. While Marko is the mastermind behind the strategy of building and maintaining Almissa, Pave is devoted to the process of its construction and ongoing performance, sailing onboard Almissa and attending to his guests needs to ensure a high level of service is always maintained. Considering how young and hard working these humble brothers are, their success and contribution to the Croatian sailing industry is truly praiseworthy.

The ship itself has been named after the once famous pirate stronghold, Almissa. This area is nowadays called Omiš, an appealing Croatian destination located approximately 25 km (16 miles) from Split, where the emerald-green Cetina River meets the Adriatic Sea. Since Marko and Pave have a personal connection to the town of Omiš and Almissa's business approach has always been precisely personal and family-oriented, the name was simply perfect - as is the overall cruising experience for any guest who decides to sail onboard the impressive Almissa. Here's what a couple of our guests have had to say about their experience on Almissa...
