EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS!

Everything on this trip exceeded my expectations! The staff were friendly and helpful. At each port we were given recommendations on what the highlights would be.. The food was delicious and plentiful. I loved the desserts!!!! We were treated to a swim stop in the Adriatic Sea every day. The guests on the trip were super friendly and we enjoyed their company, I would highly recommend this trip! Thank you to our director Vedran for his guidance and sense of humour!

Elegance FAQ's

How Do I Get to Croatia?

Flying into Croatia is the most popular way to arrive in the country, however there are also great bus and self-drive options. Learn more about flying to Croatia here, or if you’re planning on driving to Croatia, you can find more information here.

What are Elegance Cruises?

Elegance Cruises are our most luxurious cruises, aimed at couples and mature travellers looking for a mix of sightseeing and relaxation. These cruises sail on a 7 day return (South/North/Dubrovnik), or one way departure, from April to October. Elegance Cruises operate exclusively on our top of the range ships, offering the highest level of luxury and comfort onboard. If you’re looking for a different cruise experience, view our Croatia small ship cruises.

What time do cruises start/finish?

Check-in is available between 11am and 12pm on day 1 of the cruise, with a Welcome Reception commencing at 12pm. Guests travelling on the Dubrovnik - Split itinerary will stay in Dubrovnik for the first night, and all other itineraries will depart the harbour at 1pm. You'll reach your final destination the day before check-out, with the last night of the cruise spent in Split/Dubrovnik. You are able to disembark the ship after breakfast between 8am and 9am on the last day of your cruise. If you’re unable to make it to check-in on time, you can easily catch up with your ship at your first destination. Please see FAQ: What if I can’t make the check-in time?

What if I can’t make the check-in time?

If you’re unable to arrive at your departure point for check-in, it’s easy to catch up with your ship at your first destination. See information on how to get to your first destination below:

  • Split Return South: your first night will be spent in Stari Grad, which is easily accessible via ferry from Split (2 hours). You can find the ferry timetable online here.
  • Split - Dubrovnik: your first night will be spent in Milna, which is easily accessible via ferry from Split (30 minutes or 1 hour & 10 minutes depending on the ferry). There are two ferries servicing Milna and you can find the ferry timetables online here and here.
  • Split Return North: you will spend your first night in the mainland destination of Trogir. Trogir is easily accessible by public bus from Split (45 minutes). You can find the bus timetable online here.
  • Dubrovnik - Split: you will stay overnight in Dubrovnik on night 1, so arriving late is not a problem!

If you need assistance planning your arrival, a member of our Sales Team will be happy to help you connect the dots! We are able to provide land based transfers if required, or our Operations Team are also able to assist you on the ground with logistics.

Are transfers between the airport and the port included?

As part of your Elegance cruise, transfers are included between the airport and your hotel, or straight to the ship on the start day of your cruise. Transfers from the ship to the airport are also included on the last day of your cruise. Please advise your flight details (flight number, arrival/departure time) at least 5 days before departure by emailing our Sales Team on [email protected]. Once we have this information we will be happy to arrange these for you.

What ages are onboard the ship?

Elegance Cruises are for mature travellers, so there is an 18+ age restriction onboard. If you are looking to travel with children aged 15+, our Explorer Dubrovnik and Split Cruises may be an option for you. If you’re travelling with younger children, you may be interested in our Private Yacht Tours!

What are the cabin arrangements?

Our Elegance ships offer the most spacious and luxurious cabins, ranging in size from 10-12m2. Cabins are equipped with either Twin beds or a Double bed, a private ensuite bathroom and air-conditioning. Double beds are either fixed, or can be created by pushing two Twin beds together on some ships. Twin or Double bed cabins are confirmed during the booking stage, so please let us know your preference.

The shape and layout of cabins can vary depending on their location, as they are configured around the build of the individual ship. We will do our best to accommodate cabin location preferences based on those who book first. On some ships, we also have triple cabins available for guests that are travelling as a group of three and would like to share a cabin. Triple cabins consist of a double bed and a single bunk, and we provide a 10% discount per person for these cabin types. In some Triple cabins, the double bed may be slightly smaller to accommodate the additional single bed, meaning these cabins may not be suitable for travellers that require more space. If you would like to book a triple cabin please let us know and we can check availability when you enquire.

What is the difference between Above Deck and Lower Deck cabins?

At the booking stage, you will have the option to select a Lower Deck or an Above Deck cabin onboard the ship.

Above Deck cabins are located on the main deck of the ship and may have internal or external access. The Lower Deck cabins are situated in the hull of the ship and are accessed via stairs from the main deck down into the hull. The Lower Deck cabins are slightly more affordable than the Above Deck cabins, however they are usually slightly larger in size as there is no walk-way around the outside. They are also often cooler and quieter in the evenings. The main benefit with the Above Deck cabins is that they are on the main or upper deck, easily accessible without having to use the stairs! Please note:

Above Deck cabins are either equipped with a window or a port hole, some of these will be fixed and cannot be opened. Lower Deck cabins are equipped with a port hole which cannot be opened.

Each ship is unique and therefore the layout does vary from ship to ship.

Above Deck Lower Deck
Above water level At water level
On the main deck Below the main deck
No stairs* Quieter Large portholes
  Cooler during the hot months
Generally larger cabins* (due to lack of walkway)
  Lower in price

*Dependent on ship, see ship plans below for more details.

I am travelling by myself. Is there a Single supplement?

If you prefer to have your own cabin, you can pay a single supplement which is 50% of the per person website price. Please note single supplements are limited in their availability and are not applicable on special offers or discounted cruises. Alternatively, we can match you with another solo traveller of the same sex onboard the ship.

What meals are served onboard?

Each morning the onboard cook will prepare a buffet breakfast, complete with hot and cold dishes. A traditional three course lunch is also served daily, prepared by the onboard cook. Two evening meals are included on all Elegance cruises; a Captain's dinner (complete with entertainment) and a Traditional Village Dinner. On the other evenings, we encourage you to explore the local towns and experience Dalmatian cuisine. Your onboard Tour Manager will be able to offer suggestions on the best places to eat at each destination!

I am a vegetarian or have a special dietary request - do you cater for me?

Our onboard cook is able to cater for vegetarians and travellers with special dietary requests. If you are allergic to certain foods, please specify in advance what this includes. We will note this so the cook can be prepared.

Are there any local payments that I need to be aware of?

A local payment of 30 Euros per person is payable onboard your Sail Croatia Cruise. This payment incorporates port fees and tourist taxes throughout the week and is subject to change.

What type of luggage should I bring?

If you’re joining us from within Europe, we highly recommend limiting your luggage to one suitcase; however, we understand that this might not be possible for international travellers who are flying in just for the cruise, or on extended trips. In most cabins, you will be able to store bags under the bed; however, in the case of excess luggage, please ask check-in staff to give you additional information about possible storage.

Will I get to visit the Blue Cave as a part of my cruise?

The Blue Cave in Vis is a very popular attraction. If weather conditions allow, and the site is not too busy, we will take guests to the port where they can take a local small boat to visit the cave. This activity is not a part of your booking with Sail Croatia, or an excursion provided by us, therefore we shall not be deemed responsible for any damage, loss or dissatisfaction related to the Blue Cave visit. Please be aware that the cave entrance is very small and guests will need to crouch in the centre of the small boat to get into the cave.

Am I able to use the jacuzzi onboard 24/7?

You’re welcome to relax in the onboard jacuzzi throughout your cruise. Please note that the jacuzzi may not be available at all times due to conditions such as electricity consumption, fresh water usage onboard and weather conditions.

How does Sail Croatia contribute to sustainable tourism?

Sail Croatia is committed to sustainable tourism and eco-friendly practices. In 2016 Sail Croatia founded Green Sail, a non-profit organisation that promotes and supports sustainable tourism in the Croatian nautical industry. For every guest that sails with us, we donate €4 to Green Sail to help protect Croatia's seas.

What other cruises do you operate?

Sail Croatia offer cruise and yacht experiences to suit every travel style, including luxury Croatia Cruises for mature travellers, Explorer Cruises between Split and Dubrovnik, Navigator Party Cruises, and Active Cruises on our Cycle Croatia and Hike Croatia Cruise experiences.

Do I need to purchase travel insurance?

Yes, we highly recommend that you take out Travel Insurance that would cover cancellation, personal injury, medical expenses, personal liability & loss of personal property before you travel with us. It’s also important to check that your insurance covers all of the optional excursions you may be doing whilst onboard the cruise with us. Find out more about Travel Insurance here.

Please note: Once a booking is confirmed, there are fees applicable if you need to make a change to your booking or if you need to cancel. All fees can be found on our Booking Terms. Whilst we are unable to offer refunds, we can provide a letter confirming your cancellation with us which may aid your Travel Insurance claim, if required.

I have reduced mobility, is this trip right for me?

To make an informed decision about sailing with Sail Croatia, we recommend reading our Mobility Whilst Sailing page. This will provide you with valuable information regarding any mobility and accessibility concerns you may have.

What amenities are included onboard?

The cabins onboard each ship are well equipped with clean bed linen. You will be provided with one bath towel and one beach towel per person for use onboard.

Shower gel, hand soap and a hair dryer will be provided onboard, however we recommend packing your own shampoo and conditioner.

What is the dress code throughout the week?

The dress code whilst onboard your Elegance Cruise is casual, however, we recommend bringing smart casual attire for the Captain's Dinner evening.
