Each week, we’ll be bringing you a sneak peak into the quirky aspects of the Croatian people, culture and traditions. But what exactly is ‘Local Stories’ and what inspired us to do this project? Read on to find out more!
Since our beginning back in 2003, we’ve had a fascination for all things Croatian – its interesting (and oh so delicious!) traditional cuisine, fascinating culture, beautiful architecture and incredible history. Yet it is still the warmth and friendliness of its people that make us fall in love with the country over and over again!
Thursday’s will soon become your favourite day of the week, with episodes being released weekly, providing an insight into the people, traditions, food, events and lifestyle of Croatia, and in particular, Dalmatia.
Our presenters include popular video producer, Ashley Colburn, our very own Sail Croatia staff members and tour representatives!
Released episodes have since covered an animal flea market at the town of Benkovac, the eclectic coffee culture in Split, the fortress of Klis made famous by Game of Thrones, and of course, the best elements of Split through the eyes of a local.
An insight into the traditions of boat building in Krilo, the mythical wonders surrounding Odysseus’s Cave, the skill required to be a fisherman in Split, and the battle for the title of the ‘Smallest Cathedral in the World’, are up on next on the Local Stories agenda!
