Sail Croatia takes the health and safety of our guests and staff seriously and as such we will be implementing
measures onboard our yachts to limit and prevent the spread of the virus. In line with Government guidelines,
our staff members have been trained to adhere to strict Health and Safety procedures and policies until
measures can be relaxed.
Upon advice from the Croatian Institute for Public Health, please expect the following measures to be in place
throughout your yacht experience:
- Check-in may take longer than usual and will be conducted outdoors in a specially designated area
- Social distancing measures will be in place in accordance with government guidelines
- Staff will wear appropriate PPE when working around our yachts and guests. This may include masks whenever
inside social
distancing guidelines and gloves whenever touching surfaces
- All vessels will be cleaned thoroughly and an additional final disinfection process will occur prior to
guest arrival
- Hand sanitizer will be available on all yachts and is a requirement when boarding
- Skippers and Hosts will undertake weekly Covid testing for additional client peace of mind
Whilst we will endeavor to do our very best to reduce the spread of COVID-19, please recognise that there is a
clear risk of the spread of the disease whilst on holiday. Our aim is to keep our guests safe and Croatia free
of the spread of the virus. We kindly ask for your support throughout this process. Our measures will continue
to be updated in line with best practices and Government guidelines. If you have any questions, a member of
our Sales Team will be able to assist you.
No you don't need to hire a Skipper! If you have a valid Skipper license & VHF license, you are welcome to skipper your own yacht!
Please ensure your qualifications match those available in the above list. If you are unsure whether your qualification is
acceptable, please contact our team immediately. It is essential that you email through a copy of your qualifications to
[email protected] prior to your departure, as we need to register you with the relevant Port Authorities.
Please note: A photo of your Skipper’s license (taken on your mobile device) can be sent through to us prior to your departure,
however you will need to provide the original (hard copy) license and/or certificate upon check in and carry this with you
throughout the duration of your Yacht Charter. This process helps to avoid any delays on your departure day, and is a legal
requirement of chartering a vessel in Croatia.
All ages are welcome onboard our yachts although practically it is recommended children are able to swim and
additional considerations be taken into account such as moving around the yachts, moving booms and ropes,
slippery surfaces, boarding and crossing from shore to the yacht. Risks are clearly visible and additional
precautions should be taken with children onboard particularly for non-swimmers. For all children onboard we
recommend you bring with you well fitted children life jackets and harness with tether system. Remember it is
hot in July and August so wearing a life jacket may cause overheating and children to be uncomfortable.
Inflatable life jackets with a tether maybe a more suitable option for children. We also recommend the use of
nets which go around the yacht, particularly for bookings with children aged 6 and under, and we can organise
this at the time of booking
Mooring buoys (estimated 30-40 Euros per night*) offer seclusion and privacy. Marinas (40-130 Euros per
night*) have cafes, restaurants, showers & toilet facilities along with shore power and fresh-water refills
for the yacht. In our experience a mixture of both options gives the best balance through the week for most
groups. We find overnighting in locations that are a little further from marinas and towns are generally more
affordable. *Please note: The cost of mooring buoys and marinas are estimations and are based on a 40ft yacht.
The size of your vessel and date may affect the price of mooring buoys and marinas.
Yacht Charters operate on Split Return routes only, as these vessels will not have enough time to make it from
the lower coast back to Split in 7 days. We recommend one of 3 itineraries; Famed Favourites, Island Explorer
and Off The Beaten Track.
Due to our yachts operating out of Croatia, some of your yacht charter booking will be required to be paid in
the local Croatian currency (Croatian Kuna). The Pay Now total is required to be paid in full 12 weeks before
departure.
Guests departing on a Saturday Yacht Charter will commence check in at 5pm. For those checking in on Wednesday
or Sunday departures, check in will commence at 2pm. Check out is by 8:30am at Split ACI Marina on the last
day of your charter.
Normally in one of the cabins. If these are full then they will often sleep in the salon of the yacht has a
couch that folds into a bed for the night.
This depends on your group size as the larger your group the larger the yacht. Select your preferred departure
and then sort the results by yacht capacity and this will sort the yachts from minimum to maximum capacity.
A tourist tax of 1.50 Euros per person per day is not included in the price. This is to be paid locally at
check-in.
