Under 35's Itinerary

Under 35s Route Under 35s Route
DAY 1 | Start

The adventure begins! Meet your skipper and fellow travellers in ACI Marina Split at 1pm for a welcome drink prior to your 2pm check-in! After a quick briefing we’ll set sail into the crisp, blue waters of the Adriatic.

DAY 1 | Overnight Stay

Day 1 will get you comfortable with sailing as we head out into our opening day regatta. We’ll head straight for the island of Brac, where you can enjoy an evening swim in a secluded natural bay.

DAY 2 | Overnight Stay

We make our way down the coastline to the breath taking town of Makarska, enjoying some beautiful swim stops along the way. Makarska nestles under the massive peaks of the Biokovo mountain range with Mt Jure the highest seaside peak in the Mediterranean. For nightlife options, there is the cocktail bar Marineta and for late night takers there is the infamous club "Deep" a natural cave next to the sea and tonight we join our brothers and sisters from Sail Croatia for the infamous ‘Pirate Party’ in the cave!

DAY 3 | Overnight Stay

Wake up and set sail to one of Croatia’s largest islands Hvar, where we make our way to the small town of Jelsa in the middle of the island. Surrounded by two of the largest mountains on the island, St Nikola and East Hum, this sets the perfect backdrop for a picturesque Croatian experience. Jelsa normally hosts our Brugal Raft-up party sponsored by our partners Brugal Rum. Just picture a small bay, yachts rafted up, swimming and having fun on a sunny afternoon with a few ice cold drinks. Later you have the option to visit the UNESCO protected world heritage site of Stari Grad where you can visit a local farm and winery and experience Croatian wine at its best!

Optional Activities

DAY 4 | Overnight Stay

We set sail around the other side of Hvar island today to visit Hvar Town, where we will stay in the small area of Palmizana. Catch a water taxi to Hvar town to experience the ‘French Riviera’ of Croatia, home of super yachts, DJ’s and epic beach parties! Climb the hill to explore the 7th century fort overlooking the harbour, before enjoying sunset cocktails at Hula Hula Bar! After dinner mingle with our Sail Croatia crew at Nautica Bar or party into the early morning at the famous Carpe Diem!

Optional Activities

Please Note: The yachts will dock on the nearby island of Palmizana. Guests can easily get to and from Hvar Town via water taxi for 100 Kuna return, per person.

DAY 5 | Overnight Stay

Awake and set sail for the majestic island of Vis, one of the most outlying islands on the Dalmatian coast. Vis has been used over the centuries as a strategic military port and saw action by the Allied military through WWII against Italy and Germany. It has only recently opened to commercial tourism and still retains a lot of its historical charm, as it is not frequently visited due to its location. Vis is home to the stunning sandy beach of Stoncica Bay, where we’ll stop for a swim before heading into Vis Town.
Tonight you can explore and embrace the laid back culture of the island, before joining us for a party at one of the bars that line that waterfront!

Optional Activities

DAY 6 | Overnight Stay

Rise and shine early for a breathtaking experience of Vis’ Blue Caves*, an island cave system accessible only by boat. The blue turquoise water and refracted light into the cave make for exciting and amazing photo opportunities. We then make our way to the island of Solta and will dock in the bay of Maslinica for the night.

*Blue Caves visit is subject to weather conditions. High tides and winds will prevent access to the caves.

DAY 7 | Overnight Stay

Enjoy your last day sailing as we make our way back to Split, the UNESCO protected World Heritage city with an abundance of Roman architecture and the spectacular Diocletian's Palace. If you didnt get the opportunity to experience Split prior to your departure this is the time to explore and discover may hidden cafes, bars and nightlife with your new friends for your final big night!

Optional Activities

DAY 8 | Finish

Rise and shine – at 8:30am you’ll say goodbye to your crew and make your way on to your next adventure.

What are the sleeping arrangements?

Our yachts feature double and twin cabins (bunks). We reserve our twin cabins for solo travellers who will be matched up with another independent traveller, while groups of friends sleep in double cabins. Whilst we endeavour to bunk travellers of the same sex together, you may share your cabin with a member of the opposite sex.

What are the yachts like?

The best way to imagine our yachts is like a cosy campervan on the water: Four sleeping rooms, two bathrooms, one common room with kitchen supplies and a whole deck above you to relax under the sun. Our prices are based on twin share cabins. The yachts contain double and twin cabins. We will always aim to put friends who book together in the same cabin.

What currency should I bring?

Even though Croatia joined the European Union in July 2013, their currency is still the Croatian Kuna. The best way to get Kunas is to withdraw directly from an ATM (available in most large towns, Split Airport and Split Marina).

What is the food and drink situation?

Food and drink is not included (except Breakfast). Each yacht is equipped with a kitchenette including gas stove, oven and kettle. You will need to bring your own food and drink prior to boarding the yacht. There is a small grocery store at ACI Marina in Split. This way you can pick out exactly the food you'll prefer for lunch at sea. In the evenings you'll have a wide variety of restaurant options. Croatia has delicious, locally-grown food, and your skippers and tour managers will be happy to recommend the perfect restaurant for your group.

Will I get to sail?

Yes! This is one of our favourite things about Croatia Yacht Tour. Whilst your skipper will be sailing most of the time, from time to time, the skipper may ask you to help out – sailing fourteen metres of yacht by yourself isn’t easy – but for the most part you’ll enjoy the sound of the wind in the sails as you lay on the ship’s deck during the day. Of course, we don’t have control over the wind, so on days when the weather conditions aren't ripe for sailing, we’ll use our motor to make our way down the coast.

Do the yachts have air-con?

Premier yachts have air-conditioning in the salon area of the yacht, however this is only available when docked in ports, due to the required electricity. Standard yachts do not have air-conditioning.

How is a Croatia Yacht Tour different than your cruises?

YYou will be sailing onboard a 8 berth yacht rather than on a large motor cruiser. As you will be travelling with a smaller group, you will get a more intimate experience sailing. A huge benefit of our yacht tours is that you can bring your own food and drink onboard, which is often a more affordable option for travellers on a budget.

What kind of luggage can I bring?

While you’re welcome to bring whatever kind of luggage you like, we recommend bringing a soft-sided bag such as a backpack, rucksack or duffel bag. Soft-style bags can be stowed away under the floorboards, giving you more room during the week.

Are bed linen and towels included?

Yes they are, however the towels are for indoor/shower use only – you’ll need to bring your own beach towel for outdoors.

Can I book the whole yacht?

Absolutely. If you book a trip with eight people, you'll automatically be put on the same yacht. If you have fewer than eight people, you'll still be together along with other like-minded travellers. If your group is larger than eight we can divide you amongst a few of our yachts in whatever allocation you chose. Our yachts sail side-by-side during the trip, so even if your large group is spread across multiple boats, you will be able to see your friends regularly during swim stops, regattas, excursions and nights out.

When does the trip start and finish?

Check in is from 2pm in ACI Split Marina. Departures are every Wednesday. The tour ends in ACI Split Marina. We ask all our passengers to disembark by 8:30am to allow us time to clean the yacht before the next departure. Detailed directions to the marina will be emailed to you when you book your tour.

Are there any local payments that I need to be aware of?

A tourist tax of 20 Euros per person is not included in the price. This is to be paid locally.

What type of luggage should I bring?

Whilst you’re welcome to bring whatever type of luggage you like, we recommend bringing a soft-sided bag such as a backpack, rucksack or duffel bag. Soft-style bags can be stowed away under the floorboards, giving you more room during the week. Should you have excess luggage, please ask check-in staff to give you additional information about storage options.
