Best week ever!

Sail Croatia is a gem! Explored beautiful Islands, the knowledge of the skippers is incredible and the itinerary was perfect. The best way to see Croatia and meet new people from different places, perfect for a solo traveller like me.

Beautiful swim stops, amazing sunsets, great recommendations for restaurants and even sailing lessons! Thank you Ivan and Anna for your exceptional customer service. You were both incredible and contributed to making this trip memorable and one of the best holidays I've been on. I will for sure be back next year with friends!

Such a fantastic week!!

We had the best week with Sail Croatia, we just loved the route that we did and all of the beautiful places we saw, the experience being on the boat. We ate great food every day.

The experience was really made by the great team we had on the boat, the new friends we made and a great skipper, Igor!

My favourite holiday to date!

This was seriously such a good trip and I have been recommending it to everyone. Sail Croatia is a very professional and organised company. Honesty the best holiday we have been on. We went in the shoulder season with a group of 4 (2 couples) and sailed with another boat, so there was 16 of us all up. Our skipper was awesome and so accommodating. The way they plan the trip and can be flexible is great because they managed to find nice calm spots for us to dock for swimming and sleeping. Amazing trip! Highly recommended

Split, Croatia

The adventure begins! Meet your skipper and fellow travellers at 1pm in ACI Marina, Split, for a welcome drink before your 2pm check-in! After a quick briefing we’ll set sail into the crisp, blue waters of the Adriatic.

Supetar, Croatia
Day 1

Day 1 will get you comfortable with sailing as we head out into our opening day sail. We’ll head straight for the island of Brac, where you can enjoy an evening swim and ease into the Croatian way of life!

Makarska, Croatia
Day 2

This morning we’ll make our way down the coast to the breathtaking town of Makarska, dropping the adrenaline junkies off in Omis for zip-lining, and stopping for a swim along the way!

Makarska nestles under the massive peaks of the Biokovo mountain range, with Mt Jure being the highest seaside peak in the Mediterranean. Once docked in Makarska you’ll have the option to visit Marineta; a bar serving up delicious cocktails, or head out for freshly caught seafood at one of the many restaurants in this seaside town!

For those who like to party there is the infamous Club Deep; a natural cave next to the sea where the infamous ‘Pirate Party’ rocks into the wee hours of the morning!

Optional Excursion
Stari Grad, Croatia
Day 3
Stari Grad

Shake off your Makarska induced hangover with an onboard breakfast smoothie, before we sail to one of Croatia’s largest islands; Hvar!

Today we’ll make our way to the small town of Stari Grad, one of the oldest towns in Croatia! We’ll stop in a secluded bay to enjoy the included Skippers Lunch.

This afternoon you’ll have the option to visit the UNESCO protected world heritage site of Stari Grad, where you can explore a local farm and experience Croatian wine at its best!

Hvar, Croatia
Day 4

Rise and shine! This morning we set sail to the other side of Hvar to visit Hvar Town, where we will stay in the nearby archipelago of Palmižana.

Catch a water taxi to Hvar Town to experience the ‘French Riviera’ of Croatia; home of super yachts, DJ’s and epic beach parties! Climb the hill to explore the 16th Century Fortress overlooking the harbour before enjoying sunset cocktails at Hula Hula Bar!

After dinner at one of the many waterfront restaurants, mingle with fellow Sail Croatia crew at Nautica Bar or party into the early morning at the famous Carpe Diem!

Please Note: The yachts will dock on the nearby island of Palmizana.

Vis, Croatia
Day 5

Today we set sail for the majestic island of Vis, one of the most outlying islands on the Dalmatian coast. Vis has been used over the centuries as a strategic military port and saw action by the Allied military through WWII against Italy and Germany.

It has only recently opened to commercial tourism and still retains a lot of its historical charm, as it is not frequently visited due to its location.

Vis is home to the stunning sandy beach of Stoncica Bay, where we’ll stop for a swim before heading into Vis Town.

Optional Excursion
Milna, Croatia
Day 6

Experience the breathtaking Blue Caves* this morning, an island cave system accessible only by boat. The blue turquoise water and refracted light into the cave make for exciting and amazing photo opportunities!

Mid-morning we’ll make our way to the island of Brac and will dock in the bay of Milna for the night.

Optional Excursion
  • Visit to the Blue Caves

Please Note: A visit to the Blue Caves is subject to weather conditions. High tides and winds will prevent access to the caves.

Split, Croatia

Enjoy your last day sailing as we make our way back to Split, the UNESCO protected World Heritage city with an abundance of Roman architecture and the spectacular Diocletian's Palace.

If you didn't get the opportunity to experience Split prior to your departure this is the time to explore and discover many hidden cafes, bars and nightlife with your new friends for your final big night!

Under 39's FAQ's

What Health and Safety Measures Will be In Place in Light of COVID-19?

Sail Croatia takes the health and safety of our guests and staff seriously and as such we will be implementing measures onboard our yachts to limit and prevent the spread of the virus. To view the Health and Safety measures that will be in place, please view our Cruise with Confidence page.

Whilst we will endeavour to do our very best to reduce the spread of COVID-19, please recognise that there is a clear risk of the spread of the disease whilst on holiday. Our aim is to keep our guests safe and Croatia free of the spread of the virus. We kindly ask for your support throughout this process. Our measures will continue to be updated in line with best practices and Government guidelines.

What are the sleeping arrangements?

Our yachts feature double and twin cabins (bunks). We reserve our twin cabins for solo travellers who will be matched up with another independent traveller, while groups of friends sleep in double cabins. Whilst we endeavour to bunk travellers of the same sex together, you may share your cabin with a member of the opposite sex.

What are the yachts like?

You can choose to book either a Standard or Premier yacht on the Under 39's Yacht Tour. The best way to imagine a Standard yacht is like a floating hostel; with twin or double bedded cabins, a self-contained kitchen, shared toilet and shower facilities and communal lounge areas above and below deck. Premier yachts are newer than Standard yachts, however they do have a similar layout. Premier yachts have the added benefit of air-conditioning, modern amenities, slightly larger lounge areas and a swimming platform to dive straight into the sea!

What currency should I bring?

Even though Croatia joined the European Union in July 2013, their currency is still the Croatian Kuna. The best way to get Kunas is to withdraw directly from an ATM (available in most large towns, Split Airport and Split Marina).

What is the food and drink situation?

Food and drink is not included (except Breakfast). Each yacht is equipped with a kitchenette including a gas stove, fridge, oven and kettle. You will need to bring your own food and drink prior to boarding the yacht. There is a small grocery store at ACI Marina in Split. This way you can pick out exactly the food you'll prefer for lunch at sea. In the evenings you'll have a wide variety of restaurant options. Croatia has delicious, locally-grown food, and your skippers will be happy to recommend the perfect restaurant for you.

Will I get to sail?

Yes! This is one of our favourite things about Under 39 Yacht Tour. Whilst your skipper will be sailing most of the time, from time to time, the skipper may ask you to help out – sailing fourteen metres of yacht by yourself isn’t easy – but for the most part you’ll enjoy the sound of the wind in the sails as you lay on the ship’s deck during the day. Of course, we don’t have control over the wind, so on days when the weather conditions aren't ripe for sailing, we’ll use our motor to make our way down the coast.

Do the yachts have air-con?

Premier yachts have air-conditioning in the salon area of the yacht, however this is only available when docked in ports, due to the required electricity. Standard yachts do not have air-conditioning.

How is an Under 39 Yacht Tour different than a Navigator Cruise?

You will be sailing onboard an 8-berth yacht rather than on a large motor cruiser. As you will be travelling with a smaller group, you will get a more intimate experience sailing. A huge benefit of our yacht tours is that you can bring your own food and drink onboard, which is often a more affordable option for travellers on a budget.

Are bed linen and towels included?

Yes they are, however the towels are for indoor/shower use only – you’ll need to bring your own beach towel for outdoors.

Can I book the whole yacht?

Absolutely. If you book a trip with eight people, you'll automatically be put on the same yacht. If you have fewer than eight people, you'll still be together along with other like-minded travellers. If your group is larger than eight we can divide you amongst a few of our yachts in whatever allocation you chose. Our yachts sail side-by-side during the trip, so even if your large group is spread across multiple boats, you will be able to see your friends regularly during swim stops, regattas, excursions and nights out. Whole yacht bookings of 8 attract a 5% discount per person! For terms & conditions, please view our 5% Group Special here.

When does the trip start and finish?

Check in is from 2pm in ACI Split Marina, with our team ready to welcome you with a drink at 1pm! The tour ends in ACI Split Marina. We ask all our passengers to disembark by 8:30am to allow us time to clean the yacht before the next departure. Detailed directions to the marina will be emailed to you when you book your tour. If you’re unable to make it to check-in on time, you can easily catch up with your ship at your first destination. Please see FAQ: What if I can’t make the check-in time?

What if I can’t make the check-in time?

If you’re unable to arrive at your departure point for check-in, it’s easy to catch up with your ship at your first destination. Your first night will be spent in Supetar, which is easily accessible via ferry from Split (50 minutes). You can find the ferry timetable online here. If you need assistance planning your arrival, a member of our Sales Team will be happy to help you connect the dots! We are able to provide land based transfers if required, or our Operations Team are also able to assist you on the ground with logistics.

Are there any local payments that I need to be aware of?

A local payment of 30 Euros per person is payable onboard your Under 39 Yacht Tour. This payment incorporates port fees, fuel and tourist taxes throughout the week and is subject to change.

Will the Under 39’s Yacht Tour itinerary change?

Our number one priority is to ensure that we have safe and happy guests onboard our tours. With this in mind, we may need to change the itinerary for a variety of reasons including weather, port availability and guest experience. In this instance, the number of swim stops may be restricted.
